Former Meath footballer Joe Murphy’s funeral mass will take place at St Colmcille’s Church in Kells on Friday morning at 10:30.

Afterwards, the Kells GAA stalwart will be laid to rest in St Colmcille’s Cemetery. The family home is private on Friday morning. Reposing at his residence (Eircode A82W3C8) today, Thursday, from 3pm until 9pm.

Full forward for Meath in the 1970 All-Ireland final, Joe was extremely popular amongst the local GAA fraternity, having won two SFCs with Gaeil Comlcille and also lining out with Drumbaragh as well as training St Michael’s, Carnaross, Kilmainham and Wolfe Tones.
