Kildalkey 2-17 Trim 2-7
Despite being short a number of players Kildalkey juniors recorded a 10 point win over their neighbours Trim in St Lomans Park Trim on Tuesday night.
Kildalkey playing with the wind started well and livewire Steven Murray had the ball in the net in the first minute Trim responded with a neat point of their own but David Brady, Arron Byas and Scott Shelly all got points to leave it 1-3 to 0-1 after 10 minutes. Trim began to get back into the game and hit a goal and a couple of points to leave it 1-4 apiece.
After hitting a few bad wides Kildalkey eventually found their rythym and hit some lovely points from Murray (2), Byas, Jamie Masterson, Dylan Kerrigan and the evergreen Daire Lehart who vacated his managerial duties for the evening and dusted off the boots to line out for his club to leave them in front at the break 1-9 to 1-5.
Kildalkey started well again in the second half and surged forward with points from Murray, Shelly (2), and a goal from David Brady and finished with points from Byas, Ciaran Browne and Murray with the last score of the game.
All Kildalkey’s scores came from play on the night and Trims last point was the only free that was scored.
Sean Culhoun, Cathal Reynolds and Micheal Potterton played well in defence while Ciaran Browne and Macaulay Fox worked well in in midfield.
Up front Steven Murray, Scott Shelly, Arron Byas and David Brady played their hearts out on the night.
This was a great team performance from everyone and they remain unbeaten in this grade.
