Drumconrath's Chris Tighe

Dunderry 2-12 Drumconrath 0-5

Drumconrath suffered their heaviest defeat of the year when going under to promotion chasing Dunderry by 13 points.

Drums are finding it hard to get a full panel out with a couple missing to suspension's another few to holidays and work commitments but at this time of the year it's the same for most clubs.

Drumconrath started well with Tomas Conlon firing over a great long distance point and Daniel Byrne pointing a free to lead by two early on but Dunderry found their feet and after a few wide's Stephan Coogan notched up 6 points (4 free's) as Dunderry went in at the break 0-7 to 0-2 ahead.

Drumconrath defended well early in the second half and Dunderry clocked up a few more wide's and when Christopher Tighe pointed to leave the gap 4 points Drumconrath seemed to be in with a chance but when a ball was not dealt with in the Drums full back line a Dunderry attacked found the net the team in Red where dealt a severe blow.

Coogan added 2 more points and at 1-9 to 0-3 the game was settled. Drums battled on and points from Jamie Myles and Paddy Carolan where countered by 3 from Dunderry and a goal from the home side in injury time put an extra bit of gloss on the score line.

Drumconrath have 2 home games left to try and save Division 3 status and will need to win both and hope that other results go their way.
