Kilbride celebrate

Kilbride 0-19 Dunsany 0-6

Dunsany were the opponents and under the shadows of Tayto Park's new roller coster Kilbride were prolific in front of goal. Dunsany started brightly and opened the scoring but after 5 minutes Kilbride responded with there first of 19 well taken points. It was an exhibition of point taking especially from centre forward Ben Donnelly who raised nine white flags. But this was far from a one man show. Kilbride we excellent from 1 to 13. They showed excellent team work and awarness for such a young team. Many of the players on show using  both feet to register scores none other than Donnelly and corner forward Josh Harford. Kilbride were ahead at half time 11 pts to Dunsany's 0-2.

After the resumption Dunsany were a aquiting themselves alot better and register 3 fine points but Kilbride supremacy shone through and started to again dominate in all areas. Kilbride's defence were strong and as they moved up the field in waves there was only going to be one winner. Paul ( DeGea) Hayes was solid in goals along with Timmo Farrell minding the small square. Around the middle you had real power and work rate in Andrew McWeeney and Zack McGovern. On the forty you had man of the match Donnelly who was not only knocking over points at ease he was also supplying great ball to the inside line to where Harford was finding his range.

Kilbride were worthy winners on a score line of 0-19 to Dunsany's 0-6

Overall this was an impressive performance and as the trophy was handed over Secretary Ciaran Flynn paid tribute to both team but also commented that this was one of many trophies that he would be handing over to a fantastic team.

Alot of hard work has gone on into the club in recent years and its all starting to pay off...
