"We need to be careful we don't change too much" - O'Shea on new trial rules

Mayo star Aidan O’Shea still feels “a few tweaks need to be made” after helping Connacht to victory over Leinster in yesterday’s Interprovincial football semi-finals at Croke Park.
Padraic Joyce’s side saw off their opponents by 4-21 to 1-11 at HQ where the new proposed Football Review Committee rules were in play.
‘Man of the Match’ O’Shea fired 1-3, including the first ever four-point goal to be scored at Croke Park along with a two-point long-range score from beyond the new 40m arc, and gave his thoughts to RTE Sport on the new rules afterwards.
"The tap and go and keeping the three players up work," said the Breaffy clubman. "The scoring system, I don't think there's any real need, you know, the arc and stuff like that. But look, there's a lot of work gone into this from the FRC so we've got to embrace it as best we can. It's nice to try something different but probably a few tweaks need to be made."
He added: "I don't want to be judging them off one game and that was a very one-sided game as well but we need to be careful we don't change too much.”

The later game in the capital saw Ulster recording a 0-23 to 2-11 win against Munster, with Tyrone goalkeeper Niall Morgan named ‘Man of the Match’ after kicking two long range scores.
Later today, the Interprovincial series resume at the same venue with Leinster taking on Munster (5.30pm) before Connacht and Ulster clash (7.30pm).
