ALL IRELAND U14 'C' NATIONAL HURLING BLITZ
The young hurlers that make up the Louth U14 Development Squad were celebrating on Saturday afternoon (August 31) when they captured the All Ireland U14 'C' title at Templeport Gaa club in Bawnboy Co Cavan.

Seven counties took part on the day in a blitz format with them being divided into two groups. Group One (at Kildallen Gaa, Ballyconnell Co Cavan): Cavan, Longford and Fermanagh. Group Two (at Templeport Gaa): Louth, Leitrim, Monaghan and Donegal.

The Wee County boys drew both of their opening group games against Donegal (2-4 to 2-4) and Monaghan (2-2 to 1-5). A victory in their third game against Leitrim would secure a place in the Semi Finals and they duly obliged recording a good 2-4 to 1-5 victory with Ultan McEneaney and Sean Bellew scoring the goals.

They took on Fermanagh in the semi final and were impressive 3-6 to 1-4 winners with both McEneaney and Bellew among the goals again with the third being scored by Eoghan Smith.

Having drawn their earlier encounter both Louth and Monaghan came face to face again this time in the Final.
