Monaghan continued their winning ways with a 1-19 to 1-15 victory over Louth on Sunday to stay top of Division 3A of the Allianz Hurling League.
Fergal Rafter’s 58th minute penalty helped the hosts in Castleblayney to cement their third win on the bounce and the Wee County a second defeat in the process.
Goals would be key for Armagh as they defeated Mayo on a 2-16 to 0-21 scoreline at the Athletic Grounds to keep the heat on their Farney neighbours and stay in the chase for promotion.
The division’s other game saw no separating Fermanagh and Roscommon as it finished 1-14 apiece between the teams in Derrylin, marking the Rossies' second draw of the campaign.
