Harty Cup down to last eight

The eight quarter-finalists in the TUS Dr Harty Cup are known after the preliminary quarter-finals were decided on Wednesday.

De La Salle College dethroned Nenagh CBS with a 0-15 to 0-12 victory, Gaelcholáiste Mhuire AG staged a stirring comeback to edge out Blackwater Community School 0-22 to 3-10 after extra-time, Thurles CBS were comfortable 1-21 to 1-6 winners over Tipperary rivals Our Lady’s, Templemore, while traditional giants St Flannan’s College, Ennis defeated John the Baptist Community School by 0-14 to 1-7.

The preliminary quarter-final winners join Midleton CBS, Cashel Community School, CBC Cork and Ardscoil Rís who had already qualified for the last eight as group winners. The draw for the quarter-finals of the famous Munster Post Primary Schools U19 ‘A’ Hurling Championship will take place next week alongside the Corn Uí Mhuirí (Munster Post Primary Schools U19 ‘A’ Football Championship) quarter-final draw.
