Glin club notes

Mungret 4-11

Glin 1-11

Caherdavin was the venue for the County Intermediate Quarter Final last Friday evening. We had a very difficult start with three early goals for Mungret putting us on the back foot from the off and though we battled gallantly throughout the whole game, the gap was always there between the sides. There were periods where we put together some fine passages of play, scoring many fine points and there were many commendable individual performances all over the pitch.

Over the past two years we have seen a host of new lads from our U21 County winning sides break into this team. Our senior players too have played their part, providing experience and guidance to the younger guys. There is no doubt that the talent is there to challenge for honours at this grade and the task now is to redouble our efforts and take our game to the next level in 2021.

Team: Seán Lyons, Aiden Mulvihill, Jamie Fitzgerald, Tim Scanlon, Jack Sheehan (0-1), Philip Moloney, Conor Shine, Edmond Horan, Kevin Sweeney (0-1), Brian O'Donovan, Pádraig Scanlon (0-3), Oliver Wallace, Maurice Moore, Sheagh O'Connor (1-4), Brendan Flanagan (0-1)

Underage Teams

U21 training is starting this coming Saturday morning at 10am.

Our U12s next match is against Feenagh-Kilmeedy.

Our U14s are awaiting their county shield semi final, no fixture arranged yet.

Our U10s had a worthwhile game against Tarbert last Sunday evening and gave a gave account of themselves.

Girls Football

Well done to all the girls who trained at the field over the past number of weeks. Great credit is due to Máire Lyons and all the parents who help make the initiative such a huge success. We hope to build on this by competing at these levels next year.
