Oscars 2020
Many thanks to all of those who attended our information evening on Friday evening last in advance of our Oscars night this coming November in the Devon Inn. This is a joint venture between St. Kieran’s GAA and the ADRSC to raise funds for both organisations. Our next step in the process will be a casting night which will take place in the upcoming weeks. We would actively encourage as many people as possible to get involved in what promises to be a wonderful occasion. It was very encouraging to see so many participants in the previous Lip Sync events in attendance and full of enthusiasm to showcase their acting skills in the upcoming months.
County SFL Round 1:
A young an inexperienced St. Kieran’s side made the long journey to the foot of the Galtee Mountains on Saturday afternoon last for the opening game of our 2020 campaign to take on Galbally in round 1 of the County SFL. Missing a large number of first team regulars through injury, work commitments and emigration the game provided some of our younger players with the opportunity to get their first taste of senior football. With that in mind there is no harder team or venue to make your first senior football appearance. Galbally renowned for their abrasiveness and toughness got off to a flying start and soon found themselves leading by 1.6 to 0.2, a lead that would increase to eleven points at one period. Much credit much go to our young and inexperienced who worked tirelessly to get themselves back into the game and reduced the deficit to three points at the final whistle. Next up this weekend we face off against Drom/Broadford in another vitally important county league in advance of our upcoming county championship campaign which commences in April.
