Joe Brolly has criticised the GAA for allowing lop-sided championship games like yesterday's Connacht SFC semi-final between Mayo and Leitrim to continue.
The former Derry star took to Twitter after Mayo's 5-20 to 0-11 victory to highlight the unfairness of the championship for weaker counties. He also accused The Sunday Game of being 'patronising' in their commentary.
Meanwhile, GAA president Larry McCarthy has resisted calls for an immediate change to the championship format.
"Any score like that is quite unwieldy," he admitted after conducting this morning's All-Ireland SHC Round 1 draw.
"But I wouldn't push the panic button yet."
This is most unfair. Really it is a disgrace. Leitrim being humiliated. Everyone’s time being wasted. Commentary & punditry team forced to go into patronising mode (“Leitrim giving it their best”, “Lovely effort by Dolan, really deserved a point”). GAA ought to be ashamed.

TweetIt is enraging that the GAA inflicts this humiliation year in year out on small counties that are working so hard to keep communities healthy and playing the games.
