(After extra-time)

It was a historic day for Lancashire who claimed the Allianz Hurling League Division 3B title following a dramatic extra-time victory over Leitrim in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

When the sides met in the second round of the league on February 4, the Exiles had just a point to spare and today's final was equally as close. Leitrim looked to be in trouble when they had Kevin McGrath sent off late in the first half and trailed by 0-8 to 1-8 at the break, but a Clement Cunniffe goal in the 57th minute propelled them into a 1-12 to 1-10 lead.

The Ridge County had doubled their advantage by the 64th minute, but Lancashire refused to wilt and forced extra-time thanks to late points from Ronan Crowley and Edmund Kenny. The full-time score was 1-16 apiece.

Free-taker Crowley and Kenny hit some excellent scores in extra-time as Lancashire completed a great weekend for the GAA in Britain with Warwickshire having landed the Allianz Hurling League Division 3A title yesterday.
