Antrim manager Davy Fitzgerald is happy for his side’s crucial Allianz Hurling League Division 1B game against Laois to proceed as planned on Sunday, despite a sickness outbreak in his squad.

The tie, which has been switched from Ballycastle to Corrigan Park, was in some jeopardy earlier this week when Fitzgerald revealed that up to a dozen of his players had a gastric bug. But he has confirmed to BBC NI that the Saffrons will be fulfilling the fixture, which is being billed as a relegation battle.

"There has been a virus in the camp but we fully expect that to be cleared by Sunday," the Sixmilebridge man said.

"This massive game against Laois will go ahead as scheduled. Let me be absolutely clear, win, lose or draw Antrim are not and will not be making any excuses.

"Laois are tough opposition, this is a 50/50 game and we look forward to a big crowd at Corrigan Park."
