David Dooley is hoping Laois can bounce back from their Joe McDonagh Cup final defeat to Offaly by taking Wexford’s scalp in Saturday’s All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final.

The O’Moore County famously beat Dublin at the same stage in 2019, but that was after winning the second-tier championship.

“It's difficult because we put so much into it and our goal at the start of the year was to get promotion to the Liam MacCarthy Cup,” the former Ireland rugby U18 and U19 international told gaa.ie

“It's still playing in the back of the mind but we have to draw a line in the sand and get the bodies and minds right and reset for Wexford because it's going to be a big one on Saturday.

“They've had their eyes set on this game for the last few weeks so we need to be ready for it.”
