Talented Laois hurler laid to rest

The funeral took has taken place of a talented Laois hurler who died in a single-vehicle collision in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Adam Kirwan (22) played hurling with Trumera and previously with the Laois minor team. He was training to be a teacher at Mary Immaculate College (MIC) in Thurles, Co. Tipperary, not far from where the tragic accident happened.

Laois football manager Billy Sheehan was among those to pay tribute over the weekend to Adam who was laid to rest in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath yesterday afternoon following Funeral Mass in St Fintan’s Church.
