Mark Barry and Paddy Purcell have been named as the Laois Senior Footballer and Hurler of the Year respectively.
Barry stood out in what was a disappointing season for the Laois footballers and also helped his club O'Dempsey's to a county SFC final appearance. Purcell also caught the eye for the county hurlers and his club Rathdowney-Errill, who reached the SHC semi-final.
Another county footballer, Paddy O'Sullivan, has been honoured with the Club Footballer of the Year award after an outstanding season in the colours of three-in-a-row champions Portarlington. Darren Maher picked up the Club Hurler of the Year accolade for his defensive brilliance as Clough-Ballacolla retained their SHC crown.
A total of 18 clubs are represented among the 22 winners. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on November 18.
