O'Moore Park in Portlaoise will host the National Hurling Division 1 relegation playoff between Laois and Westmeath next Saturday at 7.30pm.

Seamus 'Cheddar' Plunkett's men have been handed home advantage on the basis that they played more games away from home than their midland rivals in the round-robin series.

Both teams go into the do-or-die clash in rude health. Westmeath won the Joe McDonagh Cup yesterday evening, while Laois pushed Waterford to the pin of their collar in their All-Ireland SHC Round 1 qualifier earlier in the day.

Division 2A champions Offaly will replace the loser in the top flight next season.
