Laois GAA Fight Night
December 19, 2011

Laois senior footballer Brendan Quigley goes side-to-side with senior hurler Darren Maher at the Laois GAA Fight Night launch
A fundraising initiative organised by Laois senior football and hurling stars will see players from both codes take part in an eagerly awaited Battle of the O'Moores Fight Night, in association with Joe Mallon Motors, on January 21.
Former AFL player Colm Begley, along with Brendan Quigley, Kevin Meaney and others will slug it out with their hurling counterparts in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel.
All money raised from this event will go towards the players training fund for the forthcoming year. The footballers are in Division 1 and kick off the NFL with a home tie with Mayo, while the hurlers, in their first year with former Cork star Teddy McCarthy, will play a Division 2 opener against Offaly.
A large crowd of 800 is expected to go ring side for the event with tickets currently selling very well.
Tickets are available from both panels at a cost of €20 or also from the Laois GAA offices at 057-86-60674
