Ballyhale Shamrocks are a win away from sealing a fifth Kilkenny senior hurling championship title in-a-row after battling past Tullaroan for a 1-24 to 1-20 victory at Nowlan Park this evening.

Colin Fennelly’s 38th minute goal proved key for the holders as they kicked on for the four-point victory and another SHC final berth.

Tullaroan raced into an early 0-4 to nothing lead and got superb goal through Mossy Keoghan but Ballyhale were able to get level by the break thanks to the points of TJ Reid, Evan Shefflin and Eoin Cody.

The first two points of the restart came from Tullaoran but the slitoar would be in their net soon afterwards via Fennelly and, from there, were able to see out the victory which pits them against James Stephens in the Tom Walsh Cup decider next weekend.
