Rathcoffey and Clane GAA clubs have come together to raise funds for the family of young Ruairi McDonnell who has a terminal illness.
The six-year-old has been diagnosed with a very rare degenerative and life-limiting neurological condition, and now the two Kildare clubs have launched an appeal for financial support for his family. Ruairi's dad Martin, who is a native of Ballycastle, Co. Mayo, is a member of Rathcoffey GAA, while his mother Ruth is also well-known in the Rathcoffey and Clane area.
Prior to his diagnosis, Ruairi had been attending school in Clane and was a typical six-year-old who loved GAA, especially hurling, riding his bike and playing with his two brothers Fionn and Tomas, and many friends.
The "Roar for Ruairi" appeal has appeared on the front page of the Liffey Champion 🙏
