Kerry's Munster LGFA executive members Nora Fealey and Alanna Donegan have resigned over a ladies football and camogie fixtures clash.

It comes after three provincial club championship games involving 11 dual players were fixed for this Saturday afternoon. Abbeydorney's Munster ladies football junior championship semi-final against Mungret is slated for 1pm, an hour before eight of their players are due to line out with Cillard and further three with Clanmaurice in the Munster camogie junior and intermediate semi-finals respectively.

Kerry LGFA and Kerry Camogie have called on Munster LGFA to work with Munster Camogie to "try and offer a solution to allow all players to represent their county in what may be a once in a lifetime opportunity."

A statement signed by Kerry LGFA chairperson Fealey and Kerry Camogie chairperson Anne-Marie Russell read: “In light of recent issues involving our county representatives in Munster Club Championship fixtures it is with regret that our Munster LGFA Executive Members feel they have been left with no choice but to resign from their positions with immediate effect.

“As a Kerry LGFA executive we strive to put our clubs first and assist them in any way we can. Ourselves along with Kerry Camogie are appealing to the Munster LGFA to work with the Munster Camogie fixtures to try and offer a solution to allow all players represent their county in what may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“While we understand that this may not be entirely possible, we are asking all parties involved to exhaust every avenue available to them before any final decision is reached.”
