Micheál Burns has admitted that it would be very difficult to turn down the chance to play for Kerry again.

Burns spent the summer in Chicago after opting out of Jack O’Connor’s squad last spring, but looked as sharp as ever when kicking four points for Dr Crokes in their Kerry Club SFC final victory over Dingle last Sunday.

“If Kerry ever wanted, you never turn down a chance to play for Kerry, ever. Circumstances or whatever didn’t work out last year but it’s a privilege to play for Kerry,” he told TG4 after the game in Tralee.

“I’m not out here trying to prove a point to anyone, I’m out here to win football games for the Dr Crokes but, like I said, Kerry is the greatest county in the country, most successful and if you’re asked to play for Kerry, you go and play for Kerry, simple as that.

“But I’m going to enjoy this one.”
