David Clifford hit 2-2 as Kerry thumped Meath (2-18 to 0-9) in Navan for their second win in this year’s All-Ireland SFC series.

The opening 15 minutes at Pairc Tailteann saw the Munster champions outscore the hosts by 0-4 to 0-1 and the points of Tony Brosnan (2), Sean O’Shea, Tom O’Sullivan and Brian Ó Beaglaoich (2) would see them take in a commanding 0-10 to 0-3 lead at the interval.

Sean Coffey and Matthew Costello pulled back points in an encouraging restart for the Royals, but they were wiped out in an instant once Clifford fired in his first goal in the 48th minute.

Points from Paul Geaney and Sean O’Shea (‘45’) stretched the Kingdom’s advantage into double figures after, and they’d goal again on the 70-minute mark via their talisman before Paudie Clifford’s late point rounded off the 15-point victory that sees them into the knock-out stages with a round to go.
