Three-time All-Ireland winner Enda McGinley says he will be intrigued to see whether or not Kerry can reach the same levels they portrayed against Tyrone when they meet Derry on Sunday.
The All-Ireland champions blew the Red Hands away with a 12-point victory at Croke Park a fortnight ago and return to headquarters in two days’ time looking to down the Ulster champions and return to another All-Ireland SFC decider.
Speaking on the RTE GAA podcast this week, former Tyrone star McGinley said it could be very interesting if the Kingdom are drawn into a dogfight by the Oak Leafers.
"Derry’s game makes any team uncomfortable. It’s just so hard to play against,” he said.
"Very similar to the Dublin game, where is Kerry’s level? We didn’t see the aggression, focus and intensity that they played with against Tyrone for a long time.
"It was phenomenal to see them playing with a snarl on their face. They really meant business. Can they reach that same intensity against Derry?
"I don’t think so, then within that that gives Derry a chance. If Kerry do come out with that, I don’t see Derry living with them. But I don’t see Kerry in that frame of mind for this game.
"Suddenly then, it becomes very interesting."
