David Clifford tucked away a penalty in the dying seconds to earn Kerry a share of the league spoils with Dublin for the second successive season.
The two great rivals served up yet another entertaining contest in the Allianz League before an empty Semple Stadium this afternoon, ending 4-9 to 1-18. Having scored a levelling free deep into injury-time in last year's Division 1 meeting between the sides at Croke Park, Clifford was once again the hero for the Kingdom with another cool finish, this time in the 74th minute.
The All-Ireland champions were cruising to victory as they led by seven points after 40 minutes thanks to three first-half goals from Con O'Callaghan (2) and Cormac Costello. However, they idled in front and only managed 1-3 in the second half, the fourth major courtesy of Costello, as the Clifford-inspired Kerry battled back brilliantly and were rewarded for their efforts when the Fossa star netted from the spot at the finish.
