Victory over Mountbellew-Moylough in this weekend's Galway SFC semi-final will see Corofin reach an impressive landmark.

Should they oblige as expected at Pearse Stadium on Sunday then Kevin O'Brien's side will have gone 50 games unbeaten in the county football senior championship, a run which started back on 25 May, 2013, 2,679 days ago, with a 3-17 to 1-7 win over Micheal Breathnach. They won 46 and drew three of their 49 Frank Fox Cup outings in that period, scoring 98-680.

It's also another step towards a record-breaking eight consecutive Galway SFC title having equalled the feat of Tuam Stars (1954-1960) last year. In February 2017, Corofin were beaten 2-11 to 0-8 by Dr Crokes but it would be the last time they would taste defeat in championship action, winning an historic three-in-a-row of All-Ireland SFC titles since then.
