Despite the All-Ireland medal Vinnie Murphy had his share of bad luck

Former Dublin footballer and Kerry hurler Vinnie Murphy.

Dublin legend Vinnie Murphy has been a breath of fresh air during these testing times and his list of reasons why he was unlucky in a Dublin jersey are typically tongue in cheek.

With five Leinster titles, two NFL medals, an All Star in 1992 and an All-Ireland in 1995, Murphy had a career to be proud of.

However, it wasn't all plain sailing as he pointed out himself on twitter.

The two All-Ireland finals he started – in 1992 v Donegal and 1994 v Down – he lost while in the All-Ireland final he won, in 1995 against Tyrone, he came on as a substitute and didn't touch the ball.

When he won an All Star in 1992 it was one of the few years there was no tour.

And to top it all off, this year marks 25-years since the 1995 Sam Maguire win but Murphy isn't hopeful he will get a chance to walk out on Croke Park with his teammates from that year to mark the anniversary of that win during the 2020 All-Ireland final.
