Replying To royaldunne:  "Just home after a 312 km round trip. Very disappointing , let's be honest we are decimated by injuries, I'd say well over half the starting team today wouldn't get on the bench if all fully fit. We never looked like winning the game, and when Tyrone went full on defensive in second half we ran around like headless chickens. We missed someone to put a bit of oumph into the game. Dare I say .... we badly missed graham Reilly. Anyway onwards and hopefully upwards"
Lord Almighty It starts ! Not even going to repeat that name ! You predicted a win as usual ! We never were going to win this game ! Not a prayer ! We would need not 1 injury to be competitive ! Our level is not good enough for division 1 and top 2/4 of Division 2 ! Yoyo team as they say ! We are lambs to the slaughter this year ! Simple as

Replying To Loyalroyal17:  "God im seriously liking your posts, feeling alot more positive after reading them and this what we need....positivity and belief back in this team. I enjoyed reading your stats and felt fire in me after reading them. Getting all revved up for this game. Ive always said we need to be playing the bigger teams to show how good we are, not how bad we are, we always up the anti & playing a division 1 team IMO is what we need to be doing at this stage, if to just prove to people that we are not as bad as the whole country believe we are and i mean the whole country. Saturday cant come quick enough. HON THE ROYALS!!"
Will you get a grip !! Playing the bigger teams we can't beat Longford or any decent division 2 team !! When has this team up the anti against a division 1 team under the last 2 managers !! The answer is never !! This team will lose on Saturday and that's a fact ! Sorry to be negative but that's what will happen ! If im wrong then great

Replying To royaldunne:  "Just listened to james Conlon interview, what a inspiration for every player, a old head on young shoulders, he and none of the team bother with the "crap" from so called supporters, they only care about the real supporter. Keyboard warriors beware. This Meath team and management have no time for them, and rightly so."
Your the biggest "keyboard warrior " going !

Meath player of the championship? - 17 Like(s)

Replying To Loyalroyal17:  "Mine would be Menton, Burke and Biggy. Mickey Burke defo wins for me hands down, Menton a close 2nd with Biggy. All three have been super from start of league to end of championship. Biggy getting alot of criticism over his performance in the championship but doesnt alter the fact that he has played super when it mattered and scored when we needed it most and has shown great captaincy to the lads. Menton has been brilliant from start to finish and alot of younger players looking up to him. Mickey is just in a league of his own. Every county needs a Mickey Burke."
Scored when needed the most ?? Did you not see the Kildare and Donegal games he was dreadful ! Outstanding against a terrible Louth team and decent v Sligo !! Not even in the top 6 for player of the championship

Replying To royaldunne:  "And a dub. I'm a Meath supporter, (hardly expect you to understand) but he could walk on water and to me he is still a dub, and not worthy of talking about. I'd prefer to praise Donal Keoghan, Pauric harnan , Brian menton, micky Newman, james Conlon, Mickey burke (a man you slated many times on here) men both young and old who give their all for their county from October/November for no financial rewards, no 6k per appearance, no ,for the love of Meath, and then to get slated by some of their own? While the praise others with every resource under the sun. Fans like you this Meath team can do without, join the many dubs in aig tops if that's what you want. However I will wear the green and gold till I die and proudly say they are as good as any other county. REAL SUPPORTER HON THE ROYAL."
Funny you havnt said any reply to my 1st comment where you were banging on about how I went over the top about the dublin game ! Peope would have more respect for you if you just held your hands up and said fair enough I was wrong ! And again pal who the hell are you to say whether any fan is worthy of supporting this team.

Replying To royaldunne:  "This was in response to me I see. My prediction was promotion, Leinster final and super 8s and James Conlon to be a great find."
You have been saying for the last 3+ years we were going to get promoted ! Should I pull them comments up where you were wrong ?

2019 Predictions? - 17 Like(s)

Replying To royaldunne:  "Well one simple thing. Been a Meath fan. I see too many so called Meath fans bashing the team all the time including those who were too pampered and decided to walk away. That is their decision, but I prefer my players to be fighters. So I will never accept anything other than success, that is what been a supporter does. Herself got me and two of the kids season tickets for the Christmas, I look forward to driving to donegal cork and Clare as much as the games in navan. I will support the management and players every second of every game, they will not be going out to finish sixth in league (thankfully we got rid of the negative ones who had that view point) they will be going out to get promoted and I as a Meath supporter wouldn't be a true supporter if I did not back them in that 100%. On a practical note, I feel the team this year is stronger than last with the few additions including but not limited to Newman and harnans returns, James Conlon is one of the best prospect we have produced in decades , campion looks like a real find, Kane and devine also look like they could add something, that along with Ben Brennan, could add something very special, also Danny Quinn, even as a sub has added strength in depth. I am extremely excited about this year. I actually don't see any easy games, but I also don't see any games where we haven't a chance of winning. Bring it on. Hon the royal."
Think you may need to relax on the James Conlan statements and let the guy play football ! Hopefully hes as good as you say he is..personally I know nothing about him ! My prediction for the year is mid to lower table but staying up ! And in the summer leinster final and then losing following game ! And McEntee to go...

Well Its me or him taking a sabbatical..Cant read his nonsense anymore..And I think alot of people would agree..Taking over a thread About a Cork Match and waffling on endlessly about Meath 30 Years ago..Just torture

Replying To bert09:  "Know it was only a challenge match today but I was impressed by Meath. Positives for me was our ability to tackle and recover the ball from the opposition and we seem to be closing the space between defence and attack. Mentally the lads seem sharp with a bit more hunger. Thought Niall Kane was very good. Fantastic to have Newman back-been saying it for a long time but we need to have a dead ball merchants capable of keeping the scoreboard ticking. Dublin got a goal at a crucial time in the game and we could have collapsed but didn't - great to see a bit of grit towards the end to close the game out."
Can take very little from this game ! Absolutly nothing ! Great cause but a nothing game ! Glad to see a good turn out

Division 2 2018 - 17 Like(s)

Replying To Royalio11:  "Not that this is really relevant to a thread about Division 2, how we are discussing Paddy O Rourke?

This guy left the Meath panel of his own accord and is now going on record to state that the team is going nowhere. In my opinion it is disgraceful.

He clearly does not respect the Meath team or Meath football. He has no right to lend his time to media outlets and bad-mouth the county team - it really shows his outlook and mindset.

I don't deny these guys put considerable amount of their lives to playing sport and may not get the reward of titles and honours. However, it should be honour in itself to put on the jersey of your county and play. If everyone shared his opinion why would we bother having a team or playing?

As he is no longer involved with the set-up he should keep his comments to himself."
He's entitled to his opinion and while I do agree with some of you points Paddy HSS put in many years of hard graft and deserves credit! I personally don't want to be discussing him at all because he's walked away and won't be back so its pointless! Even before this interview there was posters commenting that he scored this and that in Mickey mouse league games and he could be brought back to play outfield which I thought was madness!! Anyway I'm done talking about him and you are correct this is a division 2 thread so let's keep it to that ..

Replying To royaldunne:  "I see one "of our own" slating us again on main forum. While we have all copped on that these certain posters pretending to be from Meath have nothing only contempt for us, others maybe think they are actually genuine Meath fans. No one is getting carried away, we have improved without doubt, but longford will be no easy feat however I feel we will have enough."
I think your over Thinking this a bit Royaldunne..No one is that pathetic to pose as a meath fan to slate us..Were not that important lol..A meath fan is entitled so slate us because we have been poor this year..But anyway Hopefully we will get the win and then get beaten out the gate by The Dubs in the next round with a good run in the qualifiers a possibility

Replying To royaldunne:  "Seems like supporting YOUR county is a crime these days, and having faith in them is even worse. If we win there won't be peep out of some of these so called supporters, but they be on here in their numbers logging in and out of various accounts with I told you so, and we this that and other and how we heading to division two should we lose. For what it's worth I think we will win , narrowly but win, if we don't then so be it, next game I think we will win too. That's just me, a Meath supporter"
And if we lose there won't be a peep out of you !! Only ah well sure we will win the next one ! I want Meath to win but am realistic !! Your blind faith is unrealistic
