6 results wrong altogether, 2 penalty shootouts in the top 3 grades, extra time in several games, and then the width of a crossbar settling the final game of the round.
Exciting and slightly unpredictable weekends hurling.
Biggest upset for me was Davidstown beating Crossabeg.

Thought the first half of Shels-Harriers was very poor, second half was very good though, a bit like the Gorey-Oylegate game that way

Wonder is it because of the Championship structure? Lack of jeopardy has teams too comfortable and leads to a lack of urgency, intensity only ramps up in the second half when they realise they're out if they lose

Banville very good for Shels, they got 1-07 in the 10 minutes after HT and that's where they won the game

Thought Twomey was good at full-back for the Harriers, thought it was same old, same old from them in the first 40 minutes as their ballstriking was poor and they looked disorganised, didn't seem like they had a clear idea of what they wanted to do, had loads of lads back but was all a bit constipated

Then they hurled really well for the last twenty minutes, Clancy was a big help when he came on, big frustration for them has to be why they only hurled like that for 20 minutes rather than 60 minutes

Intermediate/A Junior - all had group winners knocked out. Its knockout championship but it must be tough to take, you think you are having a good year by topping the group and for Cushinstown to go out on penalties, its tough.

We topped our group last year and lost our QF in the 1st 20 minutes. Maybe playing a preliminary QF helps maintain focus and momentum?

That was a very exciting weekend of hurling and I think it was badly needed after a pretty drab championship up to now.

- Davidstown, who were a puck of a ball away from relegation final, now find themselves in an intermediate semi final against a team that they most definitely won't fear
- Buffers Alley confined to Intermediate for at least another year and beaten at Q/F stage once more
- St Annes demolished by a very good Rathnure performance but sad to say the end is very near for both Liam Og and Dee O Keeffe - both anonymous in Saturdays game
- Harriers were centimeters away from causing a big upset in yesterday semi final
- Gorey through on penalties when the tied looked like it was turning in Oylegates favour during extra time
- Cushinstown knocked out on penalties and destined to remain in Intermeidate A once more
- A very spirted performance from Geraldine O Hanrahans against a strong Rathnure team in Friday nights Junior Q/F - there may be life in New Ross yet
- Shamrocks falter at the Q/F stage against a very mediocre Gorey team - hurling is seriously in trouble in Enniscorthy
- St Martins proving that goals win games but definitely given a test by a Ferns team that have stepped it up in 2026
- A mouthwatering senior semi final between St Martins and Rathnure
… and the rumours that Rory is on a flight home!

In park yesterday missed out on Saturday's games due to work and by all accounts rathure were far superior to st annes who really struggled!!! Not sure you can read to much into the results I felt this year that the annes were way off it really compared to there usual battling selves!!! What a semi final pairing now with martins!!! Gorey I also heard were put to the pin of there collars v oylegate and got out on penalties in what was a really exciting game!! I think that will stand to gorey and i really think they are coming good at the right time and really think they beat shels in semi final.

Watching the matches yesterday and having seen the martins a few times they seem to be in cruise control to me and I think they are just keeping teams at arms length really,I always think they have another couple of gears in them if needed!! Fern gifted the martins 2 goals yesterday and that was the buffer needed for them to keep ferns at day.Ferns tried hard but at no stage looked like winning the game.Aul morris was anonymous yesterday along with Dunbar so they were goin to struggle,diarmuid Doyle goin off wasn't ideal either!!! The introduction of Ian Byrne was a positive got a couple of long range scores but wasn't near enough!! The martins looked comfortable without hurling particularly well!! Jack oconnor was quiet for long periods but came into it at the end,barry oconnor was good and surely will improve for the game!! Joe Barrett kept Dunbar quiet and played well and in the second half david good sure the whole thing up really as sweeper!! Martins still without Joe O'connor Aaron paddock and Darren codd!! I think they will win it because they the hardest working team around and play very good style of hurling!!!

I think they were 6 or 7 up and for some reason went for a couple of goal chances instead of tipping on scores to put the game out of sight because it looked like the harriers were completely gone at that stage!! The harriers put a bit of pressure on for the final15 mins and a Richie lawlor goal got the score back to 4 I think and it was squeaky bum time then when really it should have been out of sight for shels!!! Really impressed with donohue at centre back on chin,he got a couple of scores to!!! Cash at full back also,hearne and banville to the fore aswell banville was brilliant!! Nolan at full forward caused alot of trouble!! Harriers have been really poor all year,the set up yesterday was very strange allowed shells short puckouts all day which put them underdressed straight away,sometimes it looked like 6 v 2 in favour of shels they had so many spare men around and could pass around uncontested at there ease!! Thought chin was way off it in first half in paticularly with frees and only came into it in the last 10 mins!! Really thought harriers played way to deep with to many lads back not really doin anything!! Really struggled in the full backline I thought probably hard to replace a Richie kehoe there leaking lots of goals!! Richie lawlor was anonymous for large parts of the

What a boost Rory would be but I'll believe it when I see it.

Would be an enormous boost for the Martins if it is true. Cant wait for the semi final weekend. Rathnure and Martins has the makings of a classic it could go either way. I think Rathnure's hunger could sway it but if Rory is actually back that could have a huge bearing. Tough one to call between Gorey and Shels too. I would give a hesitant vote to Gorey in that one.
In the intermediate Davidstown are the story causing shocks between Bunclody and now Crossabeg this weekend. They wont fear Askamore it will be a 50-50 game a great chance for both teams to get to a County final.
Cloughbawn and James' is another tough game to call. Cloughbawn probably have the better hurlers but the James' just dont know when they are beaten as proven again on Saturday in their win over the Alley.
Its all to play for cant wait for the Semi final weekend now.

Was at the four quarter finals. You'd have to say Rathnure won easily without even playing well. Probably closer to Martins now than I thought think it will be 50/50. Think Shels might have enough for Gorey, although they were lucky to hang on against Harriers, Richie Lawlor goal sparked them back into it. Gorey do lots of hurling but never seem to put teams away.
