What was so wrong with the previous U20 management team? It just seems strange to me how there has been very little about their removal and how the new management team are so accepted. Did the last management team NOT work well with McHugh? The new management are all are new to such jobs yet we make out that they are going to work wonders?

Its a plan they have in place Martin over AIT Dean in with CBS Jordan in with the Marist I think they want to stop players falling through the cracks which is a good idea but it was very badly handled with Kenny, once CBS won the Hogan Cup this was probably inevitable especially when you had teachers involved with successful schools, Freshers A winners, they wnated them all over the U20 team think a good few people saw it coming

There wasn't a whole lot wrong but I would think the CBS success probably got them excited due to the obvious link with that team. Unless the new management are provided with training facilities and S&C the same problems could occur. The 20s mostly had to travel last year for games due to unavailable pitches in the county.

Perhaps they had done as much as they could have and a fresh approach needed. It happens all the time.

There wasn't a whole lot wrong overall but the championship display versus Kildare in Cusack Park surely signalled the end for that management group. The first half display was shambolic and if you add in the display against Louth then it's a lot of damning evidence against the management.

School management the easiest job in management, all players are there 100% of the time. i can see the logic in appointing these lads but some times too many cooks spoil the broth, if each have defined rolls in might work, Will Jamie be there or will he be at senior training all the time, Also i dont think Kieran Martin is over TUS, i think Carberry from Rosemount is. Kenny was harshly pushed aside, time will tell all. Mick Dillon staying on as Minor Manager, do we ever appoint anyone with a proven track record? when was the last minor manager appointed that has actually managed teams successfully?? some awful poor ones over the past years.

What a fantastic game between Loman's and Tubberclair, the underdogs will rue missed chances to win it and Loman's are somehow hanging on to their championship challenge despite drawing five out of six matches so far. Today further highlights this ridiculous format. Tubberclair, Garrycastle and Mullingar Shamrocks are all much better teams than Moate. Kinnegad should be the ones to play the "easier" semi-final , they got no reward compared to the downs despite finishing above them. It's a complete joke. It won't matter as the downs will win the championship comfortably. They will slaughter Moate in the semi-final. If Moate keep it below ten they've had a great day. Bonus territory, a position they find themselves in thanks to a Championship structure that's nothing short of a disgrace. Moate have only beaten the teams ranked 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th and now find themselves in a County Semi Final. If that does not expose how flawed the championship structure is, nothing will.

I didn't think the standard of the first q/f was that high, and I would expect the Downs to win this semi final easily. Great entertainment in today's q/f with Tubberclair giving St Lomans plenty of it. Tubberclair had great performances all over the field. I was particularly impressed with Moody at midfield and Tom Kelleher at half back. They have a good team all round and will be a force in the years to come. Especially when you think they played this championship without a fit Matthew Whitaker. St Lomans greater know-how just managed to keep them at arms length even though Tubberclair pulled scores out of the hat when they really needed it. Lomans still hanging on in this championship even though they are far from their best. The usual experienced playeres were key to the win. David Whelan hoovered up a lot in defence and Heslin and the McCartans got them over the line with huge scores at crucial times. It remains to be seen whether this win brings them on and whether they can beat the fittest team in the championship in Kinnegad.
