Louth's win in the QF was unbelievable - it shouldn't be possible under the new rules. Newman21 (Donegal) - Posts: 63 - 10/07/2026 15:22:02 2685111 Link 3 |

Screening isnt actually a foul Category II Infractions - Cynical Behaviour 5.10 To deliberately pull down an opponent. 5.11 To deliberately trip an opponent with hand(s), arm, leg or foot. 5.12 To deliberately collide with an opponent after that opponent has played the ball away or for the purpose of taking that opponent out of the movement of play. 5.13 To deliberately prevent or restrict, or to attempt to prevent or restrict, an opponent from moving or from playing the ball, by holding up an opponent. So unless there is a deliberate movement into the opposition player - then its not a foul tirawleybaron (Mayo) - Posts: 1987 - 10/07/2026 15:53:11 2685113 Link 0 |

Yeah the home ground is an advantage. Maybe Kerry management can bring in some ex-players like Brendan O'Sullivan or Aidan O'Mahony to teach the lads how they used to make up the advantage gap. Not many inter-county squads would have guys like that they can call on for advice. Greenfield (Meath) - Posts: 527 - 10/07/2026 16:36:48 2685121 Link 2 |

If Kerry play the version of the Mayo defence that showed up against Meath or the version of Louth that showed up the first game against Dublin, you're talking about at least 16 points tbh.

I think you need to look at that again, the second Kerry midfielder blocks Fenton at the throw up giving Moran an easy opportunity to catch the ball, bizarrely Moran opts to punch the ball forward and Murchan gathers it at pace with a despairing Moran losing ground in the chase. The other Kerry midfielder is still engaged with Fenton but it was the Kerry man who initiated the block to give Moran an easy possession which he didn't take.

It, in my humble opinion, was one of the great wins of this years championship. As you say, it shouldn't have happened under the new rules. Monaghan should have been able to kick two pointers all day with the space. It will stand to these young men tomorrow.

Wish Mayo the best of luck today in normal circumstances it would great to see them in the All Ireland Final after going so far into the Championship when it was unexpected they would be in this position 2 months ago, But Louths journey has been inspirational so for that reason I would like to see Louth tog out and experience the occasion of playing in a All Ireland Senior Football Final. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2921 - 11/07/2026 14:28:02 2685200 Link 0 |

Hard to see any way back for Wicklow, Down's defence is well marshalled. It's a pity, I was expecting big things from them. Square_B (Leitrim) - Posts: 2259 - 11/07/2026 16:11:04 2685203 Link 0 |

Well I'll tell you that's some turn around for Wicklow, hope they keep it going. Would be great to see a new winner of the Tailteann.

What a half, fair play to Wicklow. Well deserved. Square_B (Leitrim) - Posts: 2259 - 11/07/2026 17:10:47 2685208 Link 0 |

What. A. Win. Wicklow were dead and buried at halftime, their obituaries were written. An absolutely superb second half gives them the win. Calamitous shock, and what a game too. Comeback of the year. Wicklow fans class too. Mad to have them in Sam Maguire, hope they push on now. RoyalStalwart24 (Meath) - Posts: 30 - 11/07/2026 17:19:20 2685210 Link 0 |

Shot in the arm for the Tailteann Cup that final today. From 12 points down to win by 2 was incredible stuff by Wicklow. As for Down got two soft goals 1st half and did complacency kick in? Decision making was woeful. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 4040 - 11/07/2026 17:34:16 2685218 Link 0 |

Massive 2nd half by Wicklow. Well done. Don't let it go to your heads, it was only Down. Saynothing (Tyrone) - Posts: 2868 - 11/07/2026 17:51:52 2685223 Link 1 |

That was big things! They were unlucky not to beat Dublin in Aughrim. Jackson missed 3/4 handy enough frees. Great game. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4477 - 11/07/2026 17:52:53 2685225 Link 0 |

It's such a great Championship, even without Meath involved as a Meath fan, most games are riveting RoyalStalwart24 (Meath) - Posts: 30 - 11/07/2026 18:45:28 2685235 Link 0 |

Louth poor. They'll have to door better in the second half or this will get away from them. Defence not marking up at all. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2734 - 11/07/2026 18:48:44 2685237 Link 0 |
