Replying To TheFlaker:  "People from outside Mayo are obsessed with Mayo. If they lose they are slated. If they win they are slated. It's so weird the amount of headspace they take up in the heads of so called neutrals. Even with a young squad and a new manager people are raging that they are in a semi final. Bizarre."
I think it is great that either Louth or Mayo will make it to an All Ireland Final.
But if as expected Kerry make the final, I honestly don't hold out much hope for either. No offence.
I just can't see either Louth or Mayo beating them.

But hopefully I am proved wrong.
It would be great for the GAA imo….

Hard luck today.

Wonderful tribute to Paul Clancy before the game.
Fully deserved.

Well I wouldn't begrudge Louth an All Ireland. After today they showed some grit to win with 14 men for most of the match. By all accounts they've had 2 great years that will take a while to forget. It would be fantastic for the game. But in reality Kerry would win.

Dublin building up momentum in their home league ground isn't what other All Ireland contenders want to see. I said after the league that they couldn't be written off. There were signs of green shoots during the league of what they are looking to achieve.
Louth v Mayo will be a special occasion. Louth will understandably have the support of all neutrals. Mayo then back in the semi finals.

There's no offence. On paper Kerry the hot favourites and rightly so.

Mayo have been in 1/3 of all finals in the last 30 years..hardly a surprise if we get to another one. That said full respect to Louth who won't be easy beat. Up Mayo - pride of the West !

Hatred of Mayo and Dublin. Mayo and Dublin have served up some of the most memorable finals this quarter century

At least we are still in with a shot at losing another All Ireland final not like Galway

Andy Moran one of the most likeable players to have played the game too.

Great games over the wend, the new rules are brilliant to watch. I think kerry are still that bit ahead of the rest, but no gaurentees. Hopefully in the close season that the gaa changes the schedule, and give each team 2 weeks off between games. They are amateur footballers after all. The fixtures at the minute are crazy and completely unfair on all teams. The amount of players that are getting injured, monaghan must have been missing half a dozen n more 1st team players today, and prob Louth missing a few as well. We want to see the best going at it, but at the minute it feels like the gaa want the senior championship started and finished with as quickly as possible. The clubs are the heart beat of the association, but the intercounty games is what people want to watch. If they left a 2 week gap between each teams games, for example derry started the ulster prelim on the 18th April, and if they got to the final (winning every game) i believe the final would be on the 8th August. Dont think that would upset many people or clubs.

Well I'm a Galway man and I've never had that issue with Mayo. Maybe it's because I'm from the hurling end of the county and the result never means so much to me. I hope Mayo or Louth go on to win the All Ireland.

Theres a perception among Galway friends of mine that your support is overly boisterous and emotional and a little bit hard to stomach, screaming with delight when Mayo win a throw in or a 45 for example,,making the whole match day experience a bit uncomfortable for opposing fans,,and i guess the idea is that yed be pretty insufferable if ye were to ever win the thing.

Thats not me saying that btw, enthusiastic support should be encouraged, and id quite like to see ye win Sam tbh, would be a great occasion after so much heartache, and generally i don't think yere as hated as you think, most neutrals will want ye to win the final whoever ye play (if ye get there, Louth are bloody good)

They were usually one of the main reasons we lost.

No one would have thought Armagh would go all the way in 2002 in taking down Kerry, however when you have a Clifford in your team being that good so much so he can single handled win you an All-Ireland. For us well we are in dreamland territory and wee won't fear Mayo in making the final.
