What happened the minors at the weekend? Not much being said. Monaghangaaman3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 8 - 20/05/2026 17:38:10 2674391 Link 0 |

Physically armagh brought alot more energy than the Derry game. The 70 minutes were fairly intense on Sunday especially the last 15 minutes, monaghan ran themselves into the ground. Armagh are so well conditioned though and most of their players have alot of work in the bodies going back nearly 5 years. On paper there panel would be more advanced on S and C purely due to time and work put in. Our panel is not like that, injuries newcomers probably took its toll on us in ET. I wouldn't be to hard on the S and C coach for Sunday.

Dont think anyone is going going to start ridiculing a bunch of 16/17 year olds on a forum

Nobody ridicules players around here, not should they, its saved for managers/coaches that don't suit peoples agendas.

Struggling to call this match, Mayo are really gone backwards and are 4th in Connacht now and Monaghan lack the quality that top teams have. It will probably be close which will make it exciting but the quality won't be great. Gantric (Leitrim) - Posts: 114 - 21/05/2026 16:19:46 2674534 Link 0 |

I see monaghan Facebook advertising it as a paul mcgurr cup game and not tier 3 game.

It isn't a Tier 3 Competition.

Well done to buggy Joe and minors today. Onto the semifinals now. Can this group go one step further than malones minors in 2023? farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 682 - 23/05/2026 17:46:28 2674806 Link 1 |

Noticed a couple upsets this week in the senior league with Blayney and Cremartin getting over Clontibret and Scotstown, you would have to wonder just how much players were missing. Truagh also getting their first points on the board. Magheracloone seem to be motoring well and continuing on from their league victory last year, can they go undefeated? Is the structure still the same as only one team goes down. Or is relegation all through the championship this season? In fairness the league is a glorified friendly competition in its current guise

Feels completely neglected and meaningless. Poor attendances, lack of intensity in some games and a challenge game feel to it. Games sometimes overshadowed by inter county fixtures not helping either.

Of a B competition ?? Serious review needed how the league champions failed in the championship…

Was a little concerned after Don/ Kerry that maybe the break from provincial finals were going to play massively to a teams performance but after the four games played, the two provincial winners, Kerry and Roscommon lost but the two losing provincial finalists, Cork and Galway won. Just an observation. Blackcardnot (USA) - Posts: 106 - 25/05/2026 15:40:14 2675449 Link 0 |
