Replying To eoinog:  "I expect sanctions for Mc Guinness and Clifford."
Not being smart but why would Clifford be sanctioned?

The 12 week ban is draconian giving the split season. Should be reduced to 8.
The rules are clearly there to protect our games. Management has the responsibility to control their players.
If Jim isn't banned it sends out the wrong message.
For too long rules are strictly applied during the league while they are more lenient during the championship which is incorrect.
The official that Gilroy hat the altercation with was not a listed official however he had to serve his ban. The player who Jim had the altercation with was a playing member so the rule must apply

The problem is here there is no middle ground. 12 weeks is ridiculous and I do believe this will be looked at going forward. But also Donegal playing the victim card is also ridiculous. He pushed a player, and the wrong one. A one game ban or something would be suitable. Also I don't believe Clifford went out to catch Caolan Mc the way he did. And also the half time incident was sparked by Donegal reacting to a nothing shoulder from Clifford.

The victim complex is tiresome. I think McGuinness is an amazing coach and motivator but absolutely every word is calculated. I believe they knew he could be in trouble for this and that's why he was so petty with Tommy Rooney post match. Creating a narrative. That's all he is doing.

Matters not one jot what Clifford's intention was, his arm was high, it was a red. You know what's also tiresome... McGuinness getting hounded by the entire country for every word or act he does out of place. People letting on that it's fairness issue and an upholding of the rules that they're pontificating about when it's nothing other than pure hatred for Jim that is driving them. I'm not referring to you, but it's all over social media. Lots of Armagh people seem awfully keen to uphold the gaa rule book, less so when the authorities couldn't act due to inconclusive video evidence of their thuggery after the ulster final last year. Strange that.

for his forearm to McGonagles head or even the after the hooter late charge on the donegal player again that he had no action taken against him. Had he not have done that at half time then the whole half time incident might not have happened.

He nailed MC Cole (I think)
There wasn't a ball in sight.
Got him with a forearm to neck/head
Please let no one come back and say it was hand bags.

The officials let far too much go early doors and it was inevitable it was all going to escalate from both sides, real shame but happens far too often ,we can do without the macho stuff.

Replying To marty234:  "Be ready for what's coming. We need not have short memories. Where we not brought roscommon last year to play their near neighbours Mayo and then the only expected to play with 6 day turnaround for a quarter final.?

There a lot of bitterness towards Donegal and Jim nationally just look at pundits. "We don't want to see a ban but the gaa have to follow what they did to Brennan" Absolute waffle. Does that mean every court in the country has to give 7 years for every assault cos another court give it. Totally different set of circumstances.

Campbell on gaago saying brennan did less. I guess the fact we denied him his ulster medal still hurts deeply.

Every case is different. And again Rte have nearly every other counties pundits on who have their own wee agendas and not 1 opinion from Donegal. They have covered it 3 times over last few days pity they didn't spend as much time covering the tailteann cups games."
Soupy probably happy enough with his all ireland medal.
