Ehhh...there were only 15k in attendance at the Connacht semi-final in MacHale Park. Around 6-7 k of whom were Roscommon fans. 8k as a percentage of 138 thousand is more like 5 percent. Just sayin'.

O'Donnell in for McHugh. A few oddish positional changes. I imagine Groake will drop back. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4310 - 21/05/2026 22:24:06 2674570 Link 1 |

You can't defend the lack of Dublin supporters for the Leinster Football Final. It was terrible. As was posted earlier, the striking thing was the lack of large amount of Dublin kids there last weekend. Very few families, and even the hoards of teenagers banging the drums and bodhrans was missing. The atmosphere on the Hill was quite muted. And as someone who goes to club games in Dublin, the attendances in Parnell Park are abysmal most of the time also. DCB have completely taken their eye off the ball during our decade of dominance and success. It needs to be addressed urgently imo. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4963 - 22/05/2026 08:51:56 2674585 Link 0 |

I'm not defending. anybody- I'm simply correcting the mistaken notion that 20% of the population of Mayo regularly attended Championship matches. The attendance at last `Sunday's game was abysmal - that's well known and openly acknowledged.

I fear it will only get worse tbh. The kids and teenagers will lose interest very quickly, if not already….! A hell of a lot more interest in soccer in Dublin. And this is the sport which is on the up by the looks of it. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4963 - 22/05/2026 11:45:01 2674609 Link 0 |
