Donegal and meath both shocked on opening game. Kerry, dublin, Galway and Armagh all struggled on opening day out a bit of a pattern there. I expect Galway to be alot better against the rossies, as they will have to

Roscommon just targeted and went to town on the opposition kick out.
Bit of an understatement but im a small bit worried.

I wasn't negative towards the team or mgt.
I didn't slate any players or belittle anyone.
A few Galway supporters could take a leaf out of my book"
Well said. Nothing wrong with any supporter having an opinion on other counties Eoinòg. I don't think many Galway or other county supporters would think that. Separately, there's too many posters with multi accounts looking to get a reaction from people. I even think at this stage that some are replying to themselves.

Paddy Power had Leitrim, 9/1 to beat Sligo and 80/1 to Beat Galway. Also had Mayo and Donegal long odds on to win at the weekend. Another so called "shock" is on the cards next weekend, just watch Cork....

Anyone know when the draw for round 1 of back door/qualifiers is taking place? Hopefully not before provincial finals like previous years where in theory the losing team may have a more appealing draw

Comer has a good bit to go yet so no for me other than coming on with a few minutes to go. Walsh looked very sharp but has been out for a good while also and I think we need him sharp at the business end of the game so I would bring him in after half time. Hernon (for Fitz) and Sean Kelly will start (for Mulkerrins most likely) and Shane McGrath (for O Conghaile) should start in my opinion. Other than that and hoping J McGrath is fit, it will be close enough to the same team as Leitrim. Strong looking bench with Walsh, Tierney, Comer, O Conghaile and O Flaherty

definitely, the longstanding sore reopened at the weekend. Hopefully Tierney will be fit, we need him as an option.

Roscommon were absolutely flying in that second half yesterday. Their fitness and sheer pace is savage. Devoured Mayo around midfield. Across the game, they won 11 of Mayo's kickouts and scored 1-10 off those 11 possessions! Their efficiency at the posts was over 70% for the day. Lads, the stats on them are massively impressive. If we don't sort the kickouts, if we don't get up to pace, if we don't go to absolute war defcon 1 at midfield for clean catches and breaks, then they'll sink us. This is the best prepared Roscommon side I've seen in a long time. Murtagh, Smith, the Heneghan cousins, Doyle in midfield and more are just flying it. And then Daire Cregg coming back in. We better be going to town on smart prep for this in Loughgeorge cos that Rossie outfit are totally tuned in and primed, there's no doubt about it.

As far as I know it's next Monday after the leinster & ulster semis.
The draw won't have that issue. No need to draw for example, Connacht final losers vs Donegal as there is no distinction in round 1 between final winners or losers. They can safely draw eg Galway vs Tyrone round 1 regardless of whether Galway win or lose. All finalists get home advantage so the place and time of games can be decided in advance.

I think Jack Glynn will start for Mulkerrins. He is a lot sharper. We seriously lacked sharpness at the weekend.

Kelly will start for either Daly or Silke. Daly is great on the ball but he is not as good out of possession as Kelly. We need to get more turnovers and Kellys tackling is very strong and usually disciplined.

I would definitely start Walsh as well. He looks to be flying. I would hold Damo back. Shane McGrath should start as well.

My team
Fla
Jony Mcgrath
Hernon - assuming he's fit
Glynn
Kelly
Silke/Daly
Mchugh
Conroy
Darcy
Shane Walsh
Shane Mcgrath
Mcdaid
O'Laoi
Finnerty
Mcdonnacha/Liam O

Assuming Tierney & Thompson are injured

Benching Maher, certainly a plan we haven't seen before that.

Is Barry Mchugh not worth a look in as a free taker. We have missed a lot of important frees especially in Armagh final 2024. Had he been there would have 100% knocked over them frees we missed and more than likely have brought sam back to Galway. We seem to not be learning from our repeated mistakes........

May as well hand the Nester Cup to Diarmuid Murtagh and Roscommon then since Oddball says that Roscommon have it won before a ball is thrown.

My team v Ross
Flahery
McGrath. Hernon Glynn
Mchugh. Kelly. Silke
Maher / Tierney
Darcy. Mcdaid. O flaherty
Finnery. Walsh. O connaghile

I'd put silke on murtagh
Kelly. Smith
Hernon. On Neary
Neary covered a lot of ground yesterday that's. Why I'd put Hernon on him and Hernon good man kick a score in my opinion no way can conroy start a good player but we all seen what happened mayo yesterday around that area and unfortunately conroy not got the legs for it now ,, also I'd start o flaherty wing forward at 12 he good on the breaking ball and if played at 12 would be cutting in on his right foot to take score need to pin the Roscommon half backs right back and push up with purpose on there kick outs also I'd like see more Galway ones going down middle to Mcdaid and open up the field because if Galway don't start with intent game could go away from them ,,

Mine would be:
Flaherty
McGrath, Hernon, Glynn
McHugh, Daly, Kelly
Maher, Tierney
McGrath, Darcy, McDaid
Finnerty, Comer (if he's ready, which he probably will be), Walsh

Most likely bring on Conroy, O'Conaighle, Silke, O'Flaherty and Fitzgerald
