Replying To ohwow:  "Anyway moving on, predictions for the weekend

Galway v Leitrim - hard to see anything but a Galway win here but a creditable performance by Leitrim to keep it within six points would be an excellent result...Galway by 8

Mayo v Roscomnom - I will be in Castlebar on business Sunday and hope to get into the last 15 mins of this game in time to see Mayo finishing this one out comfortably...Mayo by 10"
More chance I'd say of the Bishop throwing the ball in than you in Castlebar on Sunday and I bet you weren't in attendance to see Leitrim pull off a famous win against Sligo.

Replying To 3rdmidfielder:  "Agreed.

This was a great place to discuss Leitrim football, but there is a serious amount of nonsense on it now.

Anyway Im hoping for a good performance on Saturday, Galway are a different animal to anything we faced in a long time. Leitrim Abù."
Indeed, I think some of the bucks on this page actually need some help... the help needed is up for debate....

Anyhow moving on, it's going to be a nice sunny day in Carrick on Saturday and my fear is that we'll run out of puff and Galway will just run through us so any tactics will have to take this into account. Not expecting a win... anything under 10 would be a good result to take into the Tailteann and learnings for 2027.

Replying To hontherossie:  "As a rossie living in carrick. I have the same concerns about how long its taking to dig a basic trench along a road. I am now starting to wonder, is this a tactic deployed by poacher to stop the galway bus getting into the pitch."
It's probably just roadworks in fairness

Replying To moros:  "Great win for our u 20s last night. Written off here at every opportunity. Superb for development which is the most important thing. Well established as the big county on underage in Connacht now. Looking forward to a speedy Roscommon now Mayo the weekend but injuries playing puck altogether. Still a decent Summer and Division ONE football secured. Love to all."
Ho ho! Up the Rossies: FT: Roscommon 2-10 (16) Galway 0-15

Regarding roadworks its just Stephen Poachers way of parking the Bus,,,, Weekend predictions all fun aside ,if Galway do manage to overcome Leitrim in Carrick Its safe to say the margin could be a lot smaller than Roscommons impending defeat to Mayo....

Plus I don't think Roscommon will get near mayo at all thanks so much. So it's going to be the big two in the final AGAIN I feel. Thank you all."
Thank you for your reply, Paddy Power had Leitrim at 18 /1 to win. Money has rolled in .They are now down to 12/1.

Think you dropped an extra 1 in there by mistake.

In a previous post you said you fancy Leitrim by 3-5 points but you predict a scoreline with a 2 point margin? Get the calculator out, or the abacus down your neck of the woods..

Very optimistic then again I reckoned Sligo would beat us easily so to hell with it, why shouldn't we try go out and win it, the pressure is on them not us.
A wet day would actually suit us better, the dry day and fast ball will test our fitness levels a bit too much and Galway will likely have a bit too much for us.
The Sligo gave us much to be proud of but until we get up to division 3 and stay there, we won't go toe to toe with division 1 or 2 teams for long. A decent performance could give us some belief in a proper run in the TC.

Any pub in Carrick that might have Gaa+ and be showing the Kilkenny vs Wexford Saturday evening that ye would recommend?

Neither the Bishop or myself will throw in the ball, it will be the referee which does so

I'd say ye have a right good chance. Catch them on the hop like we did against Meath. Best of luck

They will all have it, but note that Carrick on Shannon is a big hen/stag town so coupled with the game on, everywhere will be very busy.

You'd imagine it would be Dr Hyde Park, if the pitch is able to take it.
