Replying To brayballer: "Thats good coming from Donegal .Plenty of hungry Donegal landlords in Dublin and always whinging bout money. Then again thats the norm.Remember Donegal objecting to Dublin playing in croke park?" Remember Donegal objecting to Dublin having an advantage over every other county by having 2 of the 3 games at home. Remember it well.

Galway will be dangerous. Going for a Connacht 5 in a row. Drew with Donegal and Kerry in the league. Beat Armagh.

Replying To 32_4_1: "As I said I'm not actually bigging them up like some people seem to think, was their biggest critic also, but something clicked last year with Meath. Released from psychological shackles holding them back for years.
It's why they've improved tenfold, they were never close to being as bad as results suggested for the last 15 years, and what held them back has now lifted.
It goes in cycles. A blind man could see the dept of quality in the Meath forwards, and nearly all under 23, with a conveyor belt coming behind them in the youth teams. Meath will struggle to pick 6 forwards when everyone is fit, have about ten that can come in and kick two pointers from anywhere.
As laughable as it sounds, Kerry simply don't have that talent in the same dept, they can't always to be fair. Point is Donegal, Kerry etc are playing with seasoned professionals, at their ceiling potential wise with age of players etc.
Meath are already operating at the level of the other top teams, but not close to their ceiling in terms of potential, infact wont hit their peak for another few years, which is scary. This is the point everyone is either choosing to ignore or not accept!" A bit of a review needed there, I think? Yes, that bit about Kerry does "sound laughable".

Replying To winatallcost: "Take a look at the Meath team and subs that were brought on last weekend versus Donegal game last year and perhaps have a bit of a think about it. Jack Flynn and Cian McBride were not playing plus Menton went off early last year. Jack O'Connor, Aaron Lynch plus four of the 5 subs, Conlon, Hickey, Smyth and Martyn are either new to panel or were all injured for semi last year. Donegal also have a different team so its all about 2026 and 2025 is in the past. Don't think too many pay much attention to semi finals when they get buried in the final itself." Where was this famous Meath bench today?
I'd say you're feeling fairly foolish now.
Well done to our county man Mark McHugh on masterminding a victory for his Division 3 also rans against the "Mighty" Meath.

Wicklow put up a great performance against Dublin. Like Sligo frightening Galway a few years back, Wicklow have earned great credit. Wicklow can have a successful summer yet. They were in the Tailteann semi finals last year.

As I said after the League Division 2 final your defence looked poor every time Cork ran at you. Magnificient performance by Westmeath today. Well deserved victory.

Is there any reason why none of the leinster football matches were not streamed today? Was always a ridiculous decision but even more so now when you look at the results.

Westmeath certainly grab the headlines with that win today and were 10 points ahead at one stage.
Meath posters on here and elsewhere don't help their own teams chances with the needless hype.

Some win for WM and massive congratulations to them. That's a right sickner for a much fancied Meath team, their fan base will be gutted with that result, another year without a Leinster title, 16 years and counting.
Dubs very fortunate, fair play to Wicklow, I hope they can build off the back of that, the Dubs are a mile off it though but with Meath out now (and deservedly so) they have a much better chance of winning Leinster, but they are really only on par with the remaining sides, Leinster is wide open once again.

There's loads of games at these early provincial rounds in hurling and football and they can't stream all of them. They can't predict the results wothout hindsight either and choose what to stream.

Oh Wicklow are very tough in Aughrim and Im delighted for them. They have great respect for the Dubs and take their beating with no whinging or crying unlike yous up Northwest. Wait till Armagh beat yous abd the whinging will start again.

That's a huge shame that Meath lost as I think they are the only Leinster team that has the conviction (based on tradition) to go from competing with Dublin to actually beating them in Leinster
