No doubt kerry were off colour yesterday for whatever reason?, but that's their business.
Donegal could only worry about their own performance and we were excellent. Alot being made of thr Murphy incident, was it a red card? Of course it was. It wasn't the first red card not issued this year and it won't be the last, happens all the time in GAA. Whelan pontificating last night people in glass houses and all that. Commentary on the incident has been OTT.
In three weeks time no one will remember the league and it will be full tilt into championship mode. We learned alot from last July and no doubt kerry will learn more than Donegal from yesterday.
No doubt all the experts on the multitude of podcasts will be doing from last week's view that we are now entering a period of kerry dominance, Armagh will also be having a big say in ulster and beyond this year I'm sure.

A few ghosts banished yesterday for both players and supporters. Really excellent performance against a flat Kerry side who actually started well and looked to come out at the start of the second half with the bit between their teeth but the quick fire goals put paid to that. Big performances all over the field, Langan was imperious. Jason again fantastic like having a new player and in the form of his life. Conor O'Donnell gave Foley a torrid time and gave Murphy more freedom. Brilliant performances from McColgan who didn't give Clifford an inch plus Max Campbell who was fantastic. Mulreaney had another very good day and of course Michael Murphy looked incredible put goes without saying should've seen red. I didn't see the incident clearly either even though the media are claiming it was just Jim and Gough who missed it. Given the players who were out hard to read too much into the game but what it does do is heal any psychological effects for the players after last July. If we meet later in the year they will go out with full belief which might not have been the case a couple of months ago. Another exciting summer ahead. Congrats to all the squad and management especially Murphy and Jim who have the full set bar under 21 and minor. Prepare for an absolute blockbuster if these two sides meet later in the summer with it all on the line. Looking forward now to Wednesday and the under twenties who have built nicely after getting out of jail against Fermanagh though my jaw hit the floor when I seen the score Derry put up against the same opposition at the weekend.

But anyway, Murphy hasn't always been at that.

Replying To Commodore: "Brilliant win today, credit to the Donegal players and management for a well executed game plan. Kerry seemed to lack energy or intensity, definitely weren't themselves, maybe because of the Armagh match last weekend as Jack O'Connor had pointed out. It wasn't simply a tactical masterclass, Kerry were definitely lacking something, but we know they will rebound and will still be the toughest team to beat in the All Ireland series.
Probably my biggest relief today was seeing Brendan McCole and Gavin Mulready line out, as had we lost them on top of the other players that are out, we would have been in deep trouble heading into the Championship. Thankfully both have pulled through.
Looking ahead to Ulster, Down will be a tricky one, because while they weren't overly impressive against Wexford on Saturday evening, we kinda know from last season and 2023 that they will be gunning for us and will be seeking a massive shock. Kickout strategy is where it will be won or lost." Did Kerry and Donegal both have 4 away games?

He definitely needs to be very careful as he will be a marked man in most referees eyes after. To be fair though it's usually just the liver slap he does which he has gotten yellows for in the past but wouldn't be enough for a red. It's playing on the edge.

Some thoughts....
Yes, Murphy deserved a red. But Armagh ones, Kerry ones, Dublin ones crying on about it need to wind their necks in. Big elite GAA players have always pushed the boundaries and gotten away with it. It was ever thus! I remember Kieran Donaghy giving Murphy a "Rock Bottom" in a league game away back down in Tralee I think it was. Wooly, Keegan, Wheelo etc would wanna tone down the cac bó!
Other than that, what about Super Max? Jesus if the fearlessness of youth could be bottled. What a great wee lad!
Michael Langan is operating like a peak Andrea Pirlo.
Big John - only the greats would attempt to lob the keeper from that position.
Caolan McC - if Neil McGee is calling you a dog, then it's a great sign.
Conor Doc - the neglected All Star. My 2026 prediction for POTY.
Shane OD agus Ryan Mc - the metronomes - Xavi and Iniesta
Hughie & Jason Mór - crucial, absolutely crucial. Na fir mór sa lár iontach tabhactach.
Mulreanny - el Loco! In the best possible way. Tactically so interesting, 2PT threat, all round massive NFL
I could keep ******* on here but you get my drift. We'll enjoy this, but need to heed the rules of Icarus.

Congratulations Dun na nGall on an outstanding team performance. Looking at the match programme it must have been a very proud day for the St Naul club with three players on the team. What level do they compete at in the club championship? Best compliment one could pay Gavin Mulreany is that your regular keeper hasn't been missed atall. He had a very good league campaign between kicking points, saving goals and steady kick outs. He pulled off two great saves on Sunday from O'Connor and Kennedy. Took a risk coming so far from goal to contest a high ball at the end line but his club mate Mogan saved the day clearing G O 'Sullivan goal bound shot off the line. Open to correction here but I think Caolan McGonagle played underage soccer at International level. His goal may well have been a 'perfectly executed chip' and not just 'going for a point' as most commentators have described it.

Anybody know how Daire O'Baoill, Gallen, Moore,Patton and Thompson are getting on with injury recovery, all 1st teamers in my book but the starting 15 is now hard to break into. Jamie Brennan getting a bit of form back Great Squad
Some of the new blood have really done well and 1 or 2 may even be starters against Down.
