Replying To Tadhg2020:  "2 very entertaining games of football yesterday. The Division 4 game was arguably the better game

It was great to see Carlow celebrate the win. It showed it really mattered. Down, by contrast, were very muted and almost arrogant in how they behaved considering Wexford had more than enough chances to beat them in normal time. They probably butchered 1-3 or 1-4 in 3rd quarter. Down did butcher the winning shot on the buzzer though. Still i like to see a team celebrate when they win something in Croke Park."
They won't be as arrogant in a couple of weeks time when Donegal give them a footballing lesson. Laverty has them playing the Kilkoo brand of football which is unwatchable.

You were chatting to the Down players afterwards on the pitch to ascertain their arrogance levels? Any other gems to share?

The Meath blackcard at the end should have been punished with 20 M free.
FRC got this totally wrong.

Murphy should have got a red, no doubt about it - but these things happen, Donegal could raise plenty of gripes from the past too. I wouldn't let that take away from a dominant Donegal performance though. For me winning at Croke Park is just as important as who they were playing, imo that has exorcised any ghosts from last year.

Nice to get a national title in Croker - they don't come our way too often.

Saying that, Kerry definitely keeping their powder dry. If there is 3 gears below first gear ye were in it. We're not as wet around the ears as you might think....

A lot of young Kerry families at the game, disappointing for them with the cost and the time to travel up.

Players have got away with worse. Dangerous shoulder charges into players chests, players took out off the game on the throw in on All Ireland final day. Why pick Murphy out

Personally I thought Murphy was going for the ball! As they say! You lose a yard or 2 at that age!

What. Two punches in back and one on the jaw is nothing.

Cheers Mick, Kerry weren't at it today at all, I expected a much closer game but I'm happy with our performance overall anyway, things are looking good as we have used the league well to blood a lot of very good young players who will be pushing for Championship places now, we have some key men still to come back in but they will have to earn their starting places.
I thought we took our chances well though we missed a good few as well, I think if we meet again later on it will be a much different Kerry we face, still though we will enjoy this league win and look forward to meeting Down now in Letterkenny in 4 weeks time, it gives us plenty of time to hopefully get the bodies right for that clash, under no illusions about how tough it will be to retain the Anglo Celt this year, we are going for a historic 3 in a row so it will be fantastic if we can do it.
Have to say a massive well done to Jim and the management team and all the panel, they have taken us back to the top table, should be a good Summer ahead for us but we know the real hard graft starts now.

Great performance by us. Well done lads. Can only assume Kerry were not as fine tuned for the game, which is fair enough.

Re young Kerry families at the game, that's not the players fault. Armagh fielded a u20 team for a McKenna cup game in ballybofey 2 years ago. Some of their supporters were fairly upset, but not do much by the end of July...
