Replying To legendzxix:  "Sure. Galway have competed well against Donegal, Kerry and Armagh. Galway are missing key players as well during the league. I wouldn't be joining the rush to write off Dublin either."
I guess when you are talking key players you are mainly referring to Damien Comer who's 32 and Shane Walsh who turns 33? both have been troubled with injuries for a few years now and not a good sign they haven't been able to feature in the league at all. I wonder how long those lads have left to play with Galway. On Sunday we honoured 4 recently retired players at half-time in Donie Smith,Niall Daly,Ciaráin Murtagh and David Murray all around the same age as Comer,Walsh. Paul Conroy might get a mention but playing at the age he is rare.

Galway are good at introducing young or new talent into their team and it's what they have done during this league. A solid senior base allows young players to excell, Matthew Thompson last year was a prime example of that and I believe he's back for the championship him along with other young players are the future now.

The rubber hits the road

Div 1 final will be Donegal v Kerry
Relegation is Monaghan + Armagh or Dublin - Id wager Kerry will go all out to go up to Armagh and relegate them to knock them back a bit before championship
Mayo v Roscommon will be total shadow boxing as winning just give the other team fuel for the championship rematch.

Div 2 final will be Derry and Meath
Cant see Tyrone letting Cork away with a win
Louth will be out to relegate Kildare and keep them in their place.

Div 3
Hard to luck past Down and Westmeath for the final with
Sligo and Fermanagh for the drop

Div 3
a finger in the air job
Carlow and Wicklow to go up

Dublin v armagh last week was a really good game with some smashing scores particularly conatys goal.Dublin were very accurate in the first half but wilted when armagh upped their game.Think the manhandling of jarly og at half time by the dublin players badly backfired as it galvanised armagh into action and how he got a black card ???? Do sideline officials not assist the ref? Overall though the standard was top class and people are correct its not c hip level, its higher.Good league performance is a big pointer though to progress later in the year and playing well is better than any other kind of preparation.

Dublin not cynical enough apart from being bad.

Be interesting to see if Galway have become more streetwise since final two years ago when they were similarly naive.

17. Kildare (Tailteann Cup winners)
--------------------------------------------------
13. Tyrone
14. Cavan
15. Down
--------------------------------------------------
16. Westmeath
18. Offaly
19. Wexford
20. Clare

Current state of play for the last league qualification spots for championship. Kildare relegation would mean Down, Wexford and Westmeath having to win Division 3. Wexford v Westmeath a Division 3 semi final.
Just as Division 2 counties can make a big impression on the championship e.g. Dublin '23 and Armagh '24. Division 4 counties can make a big impression on the Tailteann. Whatever happens this weekend, 7 of the 8 Division 4 counties can be confident of making a push later in the summer for Tailteann semi finals in Croke Park.

Things far from rosy in the Tyrone camp, Cork Wilber feeling confident.

RIP to young Odhrán Mc Girr who sadly passed away today. Led Tyrone out onto the field to play Offaly just 3 short weeks ago. Condolences to his family.
