Ah jeez far be it for me to defend our noisy neighbours, but they did dismantle Mayo last year before embarrassing themselves in their next 3 games. As usual your research was not up to scratch.

Any truth Conor Forde is now in coaching the senior team, and not as goalkeeping coach.

Was listening to the indo podcast with Dick Clerkin and Pat Spiliane. Dick was saying there is no transfers between clubs inside the county in Monaghan.

Mayo last time in the league. In the Championship, in fairness we havent beaten a serious div one team in a few years. I agree with you, beating yourselves multiple times in recent years doesn't count. You're not a serious team. Fair play to you for agreeing with me though.

I have to say despite the poor enough start to the league I'm looking forward to the game against Mayo.
This should give some idea about where the team are heading. I thought Aaron Carey did well against Dublin so it'll be interesting to see if he can carry that display forward.

When were you last in Division 1 to beat Mayo. You put your foot in every time you open it.

Why are you seeking to discredit Mayo. Are you a Rossie in disguise or something?? Why not needle us about Roscommon, Armagh, Galway or Donegal, for example. We've beaten them all in recent times too, but not as recently as Mayo. The only current div one teams we haven't recently beaten, in fact, are Kerry and Dublin. For what it's worth, Cavan last beat Mayo in Division one in Mchale Park in 2017. If you think that's an awful long time ago, wait till you see how long it's been since Monaghan last won even Ulster. Not that the 2017 result is in any way relevant. We beat Mayo in the Championship, AWAY, in May 2025, only nine months ago. Put down the shovel there.

Fair play on beating a flat Mayo in Castlebar . Ye deserved it. But we were well off it when ye beat us. Have not seen us so flat like I saw Mayo that day in years. Get over it ye lost the next 3 games .

As for Monaghan I for one am weary of them they tend to pull off a surprise when they need it the most and they are at home it will be tight game .

Ah I think you have too much for us at the moment, and ye didnt help iur cause "stealing" Andy from us. Always a good day when Mayo come to town, and I always enjoy our trips to Castlebar. As for that Cavan lad he never can tell whether they are playing in the League or Championship. Safe travels for all travelling on Sunday.

Lacks a bit of aggression in my opinion but tidy footballer hopefully he can do keep it going

Ah you never know Mayo are in a transition atm . Also ye reaĺly need a win to stay in division 1 so wouldn't put it passed ye to pull off one of your trademark wins to survive.
I think it will be close. Ah yeah Monaghan crowd are good craic.

Jack on the bench. Surely after last weekend he has to start as we don't have a left sided free taker or any inside forwards. Id start Eddie walshe just for something different as well. Maybe hold Woods in reserve. Shane Hanrarty worth a start also has been one of the best defenders in monaghan last few years. no offence to mayo who are in transition under a good manager but they aren't yet a top side like kerry or donegal so any chance of a win in our remaining games probably rests with this one or Gakway next weekend. All doable we are at home with right performances and taking our chances. Jack your county needs you.
