Replying To Seanfan:  "Aren't they looking at shortening it by extending County to the 2nd week of August?"
Yes that's the plan and some are losing the run of themselves with anger with that slight change. You do wonder how things was managed at all when the Senior All-Ireland final was played on the 3rd Sunday in September for many decades

There were way less county championship games before the September finals, so plenty of time for club championships during the summer. Many AI winners in hurling and Football for over a hundred years only had to play between 4 and 6 games.

There's for and against. There are inefficiencies in the club season. Champions of All Ireland finalists having a bye from their provincial first round should be freeing up one week. Hurling and football club semi finals on the same weekend in January would free up a second week before Christmas, if that was considered. Two changes like that should result in low impact of expanding the inter county season by 2 weeks. The concern though is would they stop there or will they try to increment by more again. The CPA should have remained in an overseeing capacity!

The hurling and football semifinals being on the same weekend would depend on if a club reached a SF in both codes or not.

Said it before about Kilcoo, they never get a hard game until they stroll through Down. Beat by a pile of older men. Well done Scotstown.

Previously they won or reached the All-Ireland final the current crop have now gone 4 years in a row without winning Ulster.

Daft tactics 1st half to play possession football and not shot at the goal for 20 minutes

Scotstown in back to back roller coasters with extra time , a close Connacht final and a dramatic Munster decider. This year's club championship has been very entertaining. All four provincial champions will fancy their chances. I wouldn't call it with any degree of confidence but am looking forward to both semi finals.

Munster club football final was a tough act to follow. Football needs a strong Munster championship at both inter county and club level.

My predictions

Scotstown v Brigids to be a right good battle with the Roscommon side to come out of fine margin contest.

Ballyboden v Dingle. Dublin champions to win comfortably by 6 if not more points.

Bookies and their punters have Ballyboden to win by at least 5 points.

They'll turned up alright and will also know they are facing better opposition than they have faced so far this year.

Dingle have been involved in a few good games this year. Their quarter final, semi final and final in the county championship were good contests. Barrs then in the Munster final. Boden are going to be favourites. No arguments about that. Will be up to Dingle as challengers to upset the odds.

Have Dingle backed - at ironically shorter odds! - to win AI after they won Kerry and will be going in again for the Boden match, 5/1! Which implies a spread of 5/6 points.

Great comeback by Dingle to win in extra time. Great win by An Ghaeltacht as well in dramatic circumstances. A day of drama all round on Leeside.

Fantastic win by Dingle to defy the odds once again.
9 points down coming up to half time, have a legitimate goal disallowed and miss an easy free in front of the posts.
Not sure why Paul Geaney did not start but he and Tom O' Sullivan were both outstanding.
Would not be surprised if the St Brigid's v Scotstown match tomorrow also went to extra time. If it does; Brigid's will win it.

Fair play to TG4 ( Live TV and YouTube Channel) for providing some great entertainment today.

Hard luck to Strokestown and best of luck to Glenullin in the Intermediate final. We could do without the planned noise of their supporters whenever Strokestown had the ball, particularly in the first half. Letting GAA supporters down. No need for it when you have a fine team!

An Daingean very deserving winners in the end. A mighty comeback in a brilliant game. They played almost all the football after half-time and Ballyboden made some very basic mistakes when they could have closed the game out.
On the disallowed goal, the ref definitely erred with the double-hop, but I would say there's no guarantee it would have been a goal if he hadn't blown.
He blew well before the shot was taken and the Boden players had stopped. The Boden defender got a hand on it, by barely even trying. He would have made a far better effort and would have jumped to block it if he hadn't stopped playing.
Tom O'Sullivan was brilliant in the second half. Pa Warren had scored 3 points off him in the first, but went off early in the second. I'm assuming he was injured.
Paul Geaney coming in gave them a focal point, and he was brilliant. Used all his experience and class, and almost always did the right thing when in possession.
On the opposite end, I think we saw why Basquel never delivered consistently on his potential. He's electric when he gets it, but he left a lot of scores behind him this evening with poor decision making. Turned into traffic a few times and forced a pass that wasn't on, on other occasions when he had a simple point.
His execution of the last free which would have won it was poor, but he'll know that better than anyone. It wasn't a long way out, but he went for a high shot with a lot of power, which always has a high margin for error. A lower trajectory but getting the foot well behind it would have been a better bet.

Brave man to bet against a team who have won 3 games after extra time this year including a co final and Ulster semi and Ulster final ..

Dingle have been involved in many great games since the county quarter finals. Tough final opponent. Brigids have been installed as favourites.
