My expectation for Breffni Park has happened no great shock at all and I bet what you were on about was even considered. Confirmed this after. Sunday 4 January St Brigid's v Scotstown, Breffni, 3pm - TG4. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4228 - 15/12/2025 18:02:39 2648447 Link 0 |

More favourable venue for Scotstown 50km less of drive than Brigids and in Ulster. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 648 - 15/12/2025 20:25:58 2648455 Link 0 |

Bookies have St Brigids very slight favourites with only a 1 point scoring difference. This game could go either way and it is basically will be down to whoever turns up on the day. I think that the pitch in Kingspan Breffni (Cavan) will suit St Brigids more than Cusack Park (Mullingar) or Pearse Stadium (Longford) but that alone will not win the game for them. A huge performance on the day will be required as it is do-or-die / now-or-never for some of the older (& great) Scotstown players. Should be a great game which might even go to extra time. letsgetgoing (Roscommon) - Posts: 829 - 18/12/2025 15:14:54 2648775 Link 0 |

I will be surprised if Brigids dont win this by a few points if they can avoid giving away silly frees that Beggan will stroke over for fun. sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1260 - 19/12/2025 10:30:56 2648826 Link 0 |

I think Scotstown will win easy enough. O'Toole on O'Caroll and McArdle on Hand, K Hughes full back on Kilbride maybe and see how much he will track back.. Who will Brigids put on McCarron? Carey ? McCarthy ? K Hughes ? What about midfield on the 6ft7 and 6ft4 McPhillips and McCarville. Read too much into Beggan kicking frees and see what happens veterngaa (Monaghan) - Posts: 939 - 19/12/2025 18:29:09 2648875 Link 0 |

Scotstown with those six plus Midfielders just about broke even against Kilcoo. Brigid's have already showed in the Connnacht final that they can win a match when 2nd best in midfield. Talk about Beggan because he scored 0-11 of the 0-19 and good place kicker is worth their weight in gold in winter football. Thinking Scotstown will win easy is a bold prediction given their last two matches was wins after extra time and a penalty shootout and are up against a Brigids outfit whom arguably left the All-Ireland title behind them two years ago. Monaghan are very similar to Roscommon. We think we're great until someone bigger slaps us in the face. Admittedly ye have been a lot better than us the past decade but some of these Scotstown lads must have 15 or 16 years of hard labour with the county and it's going to show in the soft ground against much younger but also experienced players. Funnily enough both clubs have poached and are enjoying the benefits of it. A sign of the times ahead. Ros2013 (Roscommon) - Posts: 593 - 20/12/2025 18:58:45 2649016 Link 1 |

Best of luck to Strokestown in what will be a tough challenge against the Ulster and Derry champions in Ballyshannon tomorrow If they can perform to the level they did in Connacht final they'll have a great chance to reach the All-Ireland final. Best of luck to Strokestown and Bridgets this weekend. It would be some feat to have two teams in All Ireland club finals. Rossieforever (Roscommon) - Posts: 112 - 03/01/2026 11:59:15 2649494 Link 0 |

Not sure how any of that is relevant? Because a man played for 15/16 years he won't be fit for Sunday ? Soft ground has always been for the slower player traditionally.. the faster players get slowed down with the ground. So all in all your plucked that comment from your …..

Hard luck to Strokestown beaten by 9 points but no way was the Derry champions 9 points the better team. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4228 - 03/01/2026 14:20:08 2649511 Link 0 |

You may analyse the game again analyser. The stat that matters is the final score unfortunately. You can claim this and that but the proof is in the score line. Glenullin were 9 points the better team

I have to say veterangaa you have some opinion of yourself regarding your own analysis. I look forward To rising you throughout the championship. Brigids to win at a canter tomorrow. Ros2013 (Roscommon) - Posts: 593 - 03/01/2026 16:31:22 2649541 Link 0 |

The margin was nine points me anyone that watched the contest properly would not claim Glenullin was 9 points the better team.

Interesting first Roscommon team named under Mark Dowd. With injuries and Strokestown,Brigids players out its opportunity for others to stake a claim in the team. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4228 - 03/01/2026 16:41:22 2649547 Link 1 |

Did you actually watch the game or playing the WUM? As a neutral watching there was 2 points between the sides with 7 minutes to go with Strokestown looking the more likely winner but that all changed with their poor shooting and conceding a poor 4th goal against the run of play. Glenullin deserved winners though 2 or 3 point winners would be a better reflection of that contest than 9. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 648 - 03/01/2026 16:56:27 2649550 Link 1 |
