Paddy Dowdall is confirmed. Burke left shamrocks due to work commitments apparently. I'd imagine their next appointment will be from the same regime

Very bad year for club and county teams in Westmeath at adult level in hurling and football.

A rare Leinster intermediate final appearance would be a big consolation prize though and Tubberclair certainly good enough to win this weekend.

Your comments of late are getting very doom and gloomish. Keep the chin up pal. New year, new manager, a young squad. keep her lit!

I highly doubt Finan would beat Paddy Wallace in a two horse race. Is anyone else running or what other positions are up?

More than capable of winning this and making a final appearance. A title a step too far as Sallins look like all Ireland winners

Finan will get vice chair and then replace Wallace when time comes

The south Westmeath clubs should really get behind Paula Finan. If the county board really want to promote games around Athlone and surrounding areas it would go a long way towards it

I think it could be close, Wallace should get all the hurling clubs votes up north end of county and the northern football clubs, Finan should get a lot of support south of the equator, I think they're the only 2 for chair.
Keith Quinn took up secretary role during the year, not sure if he has to be voted in or if there's anyone else going for it. Communications officer (Pro) and assistant secretary (fixtures secretary) need to be filled.

Why not because his experience? Who know maybe she can get enough support south of county then question can she pick some votes north

The Games Development Manager is based in Athlone. If we need to hire a Chairperson also to do the same then we will end up ignoring everyone else who is not Athlone or Garrycastle. Tubberclair are managing just fine by the looks of it

How are castledaly after letting Foley go from castledaly?

Surely did enough of a job last year to warrant a second term ?

I understand galvin is a castledaly man also ,and him with Tumbility .

Wilson is great appointment for maryland

Why are they strange appointments? Two rural clubs struggling in intermediate, realistically not going to win championship, recruiting local knowledgeable coaches is the way to go surely, keep costs down and both have a track record with schools and clubs.

I would assume Foley left rather than being let go, Wilson to Maryland is rubbish rumours.
