It is hard to believe that the Dublin Ladies have only won 7 All Ireland Senior Football titles and 6 of those were in the last 9 years alone. The other one, our maiden victory, was only in 2010. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4576 - 06/08/2025 15:17:55 2630288 Link 1 |
Dublin had no competition really except Mayo who can't win finals.

Talking about the extended period, Dublin beat Kerry in Four All Ireland finals in 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023. All tough tight matches with Dublin winning by 1 point , 3 points, 6 points in a replay and 2 points. Dublin 2011-2023 had a way of getting over the line in tight matches which is a great skill to have. Dublin have definitely slipped at underage so it'll be interesting to see how the new Manager rebuilds. I don't expect Dublin to be away for long.

2015 to 2018 was considered a weak Kerry team. 2019 was a very young team, but they could've won. Kerry should've won in '23 though. Dublin will be back alright but not for a few years. Their "Class of '93" will be 33 next year, so are on the way out. Con will be 30 and is injury prone. Having said that, I could see Dublin winning Football and Hurling doubles in the future, maybe in 10 years. They could even win the Quadruple with the Ladies also. A new Kerry poster and guess what, more yerra! Mayo and Kerry (as endgame above correctly says) both pushed Dublin to the limit during that period. If some of those games had of been played on another day who can say which way they would have went. What competition have Kerry got now? We saw how they dealt with Ulsters finest in the AI semi and final. There's nothing to be concerned about in Connaught. The less said the better about the hurling province that our hero's operate in! And Leinster wouldn't exactly keep Kerry awake at night. So face it, the planets have aligned for Kerry and if they don't make hay while that sun is shining it'll be looked back on as failure for this current crop! So 1st on the list must be a back to back, which Jack will desperately want, never having achieved one, and they're never going to have a better chance than now! And that should just be the beginning! Onion_Sack (Dublin) - Posts: 349 - 06/08/2025 18:17:24 2630308 Link 1 |
That is a nonsense post in fairness... Dublin beat Kerry in 4 of the 9 finals, not to mention the semi final encounters. We also beat Tyrone in a final. So it was NOT a case of us just having to beat Mayo in a Final. We started the run by beating Kerry in a final in 2011, started and finished the 5 in a Row by beating Kerry in those finals also, and then beat a much fancied Kerry team in 2023. Dont fall into the ways of your fellow posters on here... Stay real dude....! Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4576 - 06/08/2025 18:53:33 2630311 Link 1 |

Janey Onion sack. Are you a yerra now too.Kerry are good but they no world beaters. Take the Clifford brothers out of that team and they are ordinary enough. No reason why we cant challenge Kerry next year. Kerry only came right the last few games. They beat an Armagh team who were still celebrating,Tyrone that are in transitiion and a donegal team that was hyped up by the media. We should have beaten Armagh too,Dubs will be back under Darcy,

why are you so pessemistic Fionn. Many said Darcy was the main man behind Jim so we will see now.Keep the faith.Dubs will win Leinster next year. Louth will go backwards.Meath might be ok but we should have enough and I really think only Armagh and Kerry around and we def should nt fear them.

Realistic... We are going to lose Smally, Steo, probably Davy, and dont be surprised if one of our forwards calls it a day. So next year we could be down another 4 players. Look at our bench, our u20's coming through, and as per DF we have NO, Zero 2 point scorers in our Entire squad. Leinster is the best we can hope for. I agree Louth will go backwards, but Meath have a very young athletic squad with about 3 players to come back from injury. Kildare are improving also. Dec will improve the coaching for sure, but it might take a couple of years and by then Cossie, CK, Scully are all past their best also. We are over reliant on 1 player - King Con. Do you honestly think we can compete for Sam next year.??? I think we are barely in the top 6 tbh. Now, on the other hand, if Fento & Paul were to return, then that is a different story........ We can only hope both are persuaded to return....! Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4576 - 07/08/2025 10:39:28 2630376 Link 1 |
Are you on the wind up..???? Kerry beat the top 3 of Ulster and beat them all well. They didnt even have to hit top gear. Timed their run perfectly and nearly all their players had returned from injury in time for the final. Their plan and timing worked. Dont be doing what a lot of their fans do - undermine our All Ireland victories because of the opposition each year....! (You only have to look at a recent nonsense post from one of them on this thread from a few days ago about Mayo being perennial losers). Give credit where is is due. They were the best team this year, end of. As were we, for nearly a full decade. Speaking of which, DF should have won more than he did with us imo. Our new manager will be taking over a shadow of the team DF had to work with. A much more difficult assignment, and our expectations need to be set accordingly. Spirit grapes talking nonsense about no competition maybe kerry just good this year and don't agree dubs had no competition either before you start. Sour grapes here though you never even respect kerry calling them ordinary is ridiculous

No competition then Dublin didn't either so in most of their wins I don't agree that statement either but don't agree kerry had competition look way armagh favourites before them and no.mattwr what say Tyrone never easy eaten and donegal no bad side over night but as always sour grapes from some in Dublin. Dublin 6 in a row great team but talking nonsense Dublin have to rebuild ye are good bit behind kerry and armagh at minute Gaaforlife2023 (Longford) - Posts: 882 - 07/08/2025 13:37:49 2630416 Link 0 |
