He didn't even touch Gearoid Hegarty.Yellow at the most but happened in split second and all ref saw was high elbow and Hegarty holding his face like he was shot.Actually worked against Limerick because it galvanised Dublin.

Amen to that. What a match. 14 men too. Hopefully Galway can pull one too.

If Galway win, they'll play Cork and Dublin play Kilkenny. If Tipp win, is there a draw for the semi finals.?

Unbelievable win for Dublin. It must go down as one of the biggest shocks in hurling history, especially with dublin down to 14 men for most of the match

Huge congrats to Dublin on the win..it was fully deserved, better team by far..limerick looked like they just expected it ..it could be the breaking up of this team who have given us unbelieveable days which I thought I'd never witness..
I wish Dublin all the best in semi final now and hope ye can do something similar, don't leave it all on today..ye have some great hurlers and one of yere own involved which makes a huge difference..

Laois
After being well beaten by Kildare last weekend, I can't see anything but a big loss against Tipp.

Kildare
It'll be interesting to see how they fare against Dublin. I hope they make a game of it, but I think the Dubs will be too strong for them.

Dublin
All in all I think they had a good Leinster, losing two games, to Kilkenny by 4 points, and Galway by 5; scoring 3 goals against both. I expect them to be even stronger next year. Hopefully they'll give Limerick a game.

Tipp
Hard to rate Tipp. They finished level on points with Limerick and Cork in Munster. Drawing against Limerick, but well beaten by Cork (albeit playing with 14 men). I wouldn't be surprised if they went all the way and lifted Liam.

Galway
Probably facing Tipp in the quarter-final. They need to improve a great deal, in more than one way. I can't see it happening in such a short time. Tipp for the semi's.

Limerick
Most likely facing Dublin in the quarter-final. Then Kilkenny in the semis. I'd hesitate to back anyone against Limerick at the moment. I'm not saying they can't be beaten, Cork definitely can, and Kilkenny and Tipp on their day could do as well.

Kilkenny
It's hard to gauge where they are, in comparison to the remaining Munster sides. A relatively easy Leinster campaign, still to be seriously tested. And that test can't get any bigger than a semi-final against Limerick.

Cork
On par with Limerick. A semi-final against Tipp in Croke Park will be something to savour."
Semi finals and final will be good. Unfortunately ourselves probably little more than a recovery session for Limerick assuming we beat Kildare. Galway will need to improve a lot to beat Tipp but have good record against them and brushed them aside surprisingly easily in Limerick two years ago.

I would normally give your fellas a good chance and they will not go down easily but I don't think they have improved since last year. Not played anyone of stature yet perhaps but most unCat like easing off and leaving themselves to be caught against Dublin and Galway.

Think winner will come from one of Munster three and would not write off Tipp who have been good and Cork game was non event in truth."
Oh….you of little faith…..

Well done Dublin. Beat Limerick with 14 men. Were hungry and played the better hurling. Morrissey met a full forward he couldn't handle, and Lynch was snuffed out. Dublin will get momentum from this, and good luck against Kilkenny!

Is this where reality met hype head on 'the invincible superiority of moonster hurling is hiding somewhere. If hurling is ever to really get to its potential it needs parity of opportunity for all participants.top 10 or 12 counties in 2 groups with quarter or semi finals the outcome, same number of potential games for all to win the title.Vested interests will not appreciate such a move so stalemate will continue to stagnate our wonderful game.

Yeah unfortunately I think you could be right, it feels like the end of the Limerick era. They gave us an amazing last 8 years that no-one in Limerick could even have dreamed of after 45 barren ones and the huge heart aches of the mid-90's, but I think this is could be the end for this group alright. They still have the nucleus to be competitive over the next few years, but Cork look like they will only get stronger and Tipp are on the way back too with very strong under-age teams coming through. It's hard to know where Kilkenny are at, but the "traditional" order could be restored unfortunately for the likes of Limerick & Clare etc.

I too wish Dublin all the best now and hope don't settle for today as being their All-Ireland. It looks like they will be playing Cork, so they will be strong underdogs again and the element of surprise is gone, but then again no-one gave them a chance today either.

Is this really the greatest GAA shock in modern times as a lot of online commentary is making it out to be? Limerick exit the championship with 2 wins out of 6, one unreal performance against Cork but other than that they have not been good.

Limerick were poor in the Munster Final, as were Cork. Neither side played anywhere near their potential. The closeness of the game masked a game that lacked quality.

I thought Limerick were as bad again today as they had been in the Munster Final, that gave us a chance. A chance that we thankfully took.

If Cork are as bad as they were in the Munster Final in 2 weeks time we have another chance imo.

Stats can be skewed as how you want to present them...it could also be said that they had only lost 1 game before today and that was with a mainly B team in a dead rubber of a match against Clare....but it isn't as big of a shock as it would have been last year alright....

The cats can smell the blood now. Tipp were just okay against an atrocious Galway who coughed up the ball more times than you'd see in a junior C game.
