Of course it won't be easy. But we'll pull away in the end and as I say win by about 6 points. Does that explain it better for you. If we can't beat mayo we shudnt be thinking of sam..

I agree, it's going to be hell for leather! Mayo are fighting for survival coming off the back of a massive away win in Tyrone and the record they have against us too. With the men we are missing it's going to be a tough battle and if we get the win by a point I'll be more than happy. I predicted we'll hopefully win by 4 but I'll take any kind of victory. Not a word on ay of the injuries, Jim runs a tight ship. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3242 - 09/06/2025 22:01:19 2616256 Link 0 |
Agreed. Even with the new rules lending themselves to more high scoring games, I cannot see us winning by 6. Mayo won't want to leave anything to chance. If they lose to us and end up on the same points as Cavan they'll be gone. A Mayo team backed into a corner is a very dangerous team. We can't take any chances either. If we lose to Mayo and Cavan get any sort of a result against Tyrone, we'll be gone. Gun to head, I'd give us the nod to win by a point or two, but a draw wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. The draw is 7/1 with PP. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9799 - 10/06/2025 09:29:58 2616298 Link 0 |
The article was confusing. The comments he made about the injuries seemed to be just after the Cavan game but then there were other comments about the weather ,kickouts etc which seemed to be later.

That's a stupid comment if you can't beat mayo you shouldn't be thinking of sam so arrogant ! We've had your number over the kast few years . We won't fear you . What have you done so far this year to make you such favourites ? If you had no Murphy you'd be in trouble. Think you will all get a shock in the hyde park come Sunday and McGuiness won't be winning matches ! S1234 (Mayo) - Posts: 195 - 10/06/2025 11:32:07 2616339 Link 0 |
No I finished exams a long time ago. I know I make so much sense you think I must be a top student .

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think it will be a tough match because the venue certainly favours Mayo. You are very dependent on O Shea because if he plays well Mayo play well. It will be a battle and it will be hard on both teams, if they get through, to recover for the following week. Scenicparish (Donegal) - Posts: 540 - 10/06/2025 11:53:45 2616344 Link 0 |
What's stupid about it, it's just my opinion. I respect your views so just jog on.

Wonder will we see Stephen McMenamin pick O'Shea up? He did a good job on him in the league game. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9799 - 10/06/2025 12:30:39 2616363 Link 0 |

Guaranteed to happen. We'll probably see one of the forwards making way with McHugh pushing up to half forward to curtail Durkin.

Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to express it. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean it's stupid. Grow up and have a bit of respect.

Only based on that he hasn't started much this year mccolgan might go to the bench to accommodate mcmenamin. In saying that I liked what mccolgan brought against cavan. Paddy durcan did do an excellent job curtailing Ryan mchugh in 2019 in castlebar. Curtailing durcan and tagging him probably does make sense as he's a great man to get a few scores. Also with Moore marking mccurry against Tyrone and mogan out the running threat was diminished quite a bit. They had much better threat against cavan. With mcgonagle seemingly out then rest of defence will stay as it is. It would obviously be great to have Patton back but you won't know that for definite until Sunday just before the match. The only thing you really know from the team announcements at the minute is those players who are injured. I suppose one of mcbrearty or gallen to start. Another factor is how much rochford will no of the Donegal team which should help mayo. Ulsterchamps_32 (Donegal) - Posts: 858 - 10/06/2025 13:33:37 2616388 Link 0 |
Exams finished long time ago and I will be in Newry actually to watch the mighty Dubs. You know them. The team Donegal cried and whinged to try take them out of croker and jimmy does nt even want Donegal to play there cos twood cost too much money for the poor Donegal misers who still have their communion money.

Yeah Durcan will need attention too. In my opinion, he is one of the most underrated footballers in the country. Typical that he's just back from injury and ready for battle with us.

Is that the same Donegal that have been living rent free in your head all these years?

Time to move on, it's been 6 years since the Donegal motion. Seems to still be annoying you because you bring it up at every opportunity.

The mighty beatable outside croke park dubs. Best of luck. I fancy Derry to pull off a result in that one as they've been so near in so many games of late. Careful not to get lost all the way up the M1 and back.
