Replying To yew_tree:  "Well well….what does that say? Spillane said Connacht football is useless….Mayo have just hammered Tyrone and I predict Galway will do similar tomorrow."
As the saying goes 'one swallow never made a summer' … let's see if either win the All Ireland before we dismiss the views of a multiple All Ireland winner… although the use of the word 'useless' might be a tad harsh..

Wasn't just a weeks a rest . We had more hunger and had to restore our pride after everything on & off the pitch the last 2 weeks .

Also Paddy Durcan back is massive for us . Conal Dawson. Bob Touhy and Davit Neary those young ones they made a big difference for us to .

Donegal with an emphatic response to last week. All four teams on 2 points in that group.
Derry still without a win in league or championship in 2025 after an incredible end to that game. No team will be eliminated until Round 3.

So you had Galway to draw?

Makes up for the 3 grand you lost backing them to win in your earlier post I suppose.

How much did you lay in total to win that 10k? 15?

That imaginary 10K will compensate nicely for the imaginary 2K you said you bet yesterday on the accumulator which had Galway winning. Keep em coming, good lad.

After the second round of games one team stands head and shoulders above the rest. It's Armagh. Armagh to win All Ireland 2025.

First you said you had Galway for the win before the result now after you say you had them for the draw.

Would you stop embarrassing yourself!

Just a question about the preliminary 1/4 finals. Can you meet a team you have already played in the championship in the preliminary 1/4 final?

There was a sloppy succession of breaches by Dublin to give Armagh some easy scores. A lot of wides by Dublin as well.
Armagh have won Group 4 with a game to spare. Everyone else is playing for something on the final day.
Clare are out of their depth and should be in the Tailteann. Limerick won their Tailteann group playing exactly where they currently belong. Despite that Clare play Louth in a shootout for 3rd place. Saved the embarrassment of being knocked out after two rounds by the results of others.

Group 1 is set up amazingly well for the final round.

All 4 teams are in identical positions barring 2 draws, can be eliminated with a loss, but can go through with a loss depending on the result on the other side.

Donegal and Cavan win- Tyrone eliminated
Donegal and Tyrone win-Mayo eliminated
Mayo and Cavan win- Donegal eliminated
Mayo and Tyrone win- Cavan eliminated
A Donegal Mayo draw Tyrone win- Cavan eliminated
A Donegal Mayo draw and Cavan win- Tyrone eliminated
A Tyrone Cavan draw and Mayo win- Donegal eliminated
A Tyrone Cavan draw and Donegal win- Mayo eliminated
2 draws- Cavan eliminated

Each needs rhe side they beat to win their final game to ensure progress but if they win it would be more favourable for the team they beat to lose in order to secure top spot. So Cavan need a favour from Donegal, Donegal need a favour from Tyrone, Mayo need a favour from Cavan, and Tyrone need a favour from Mayo. But not if they win their own game, the opposite will apply.

At least I think so.

Replying To yew_tree:  "That's true but I thought it was funny because the fact is Kerry cakewalk an absolute joke of a Munster football championship. The fact people still go on about Vlre 1992 proves that. It's the weakest championship and always has been."
Well it is the weakest now as besidez Tipp winning in 2020,Cork have nt won since 2012.
There was a time when Cork and Kerry were possibly the best two teams in the country though and every game was a battle.

The two pointer for frees have to go and are ridiculous tbh.
The penalty of 50m is enough punishment.

Too many rules can be exploited easily for example
1.Handing back to ball.
Many players are knocking out of the givers hands or refusing to accept the ball and letting it drop and the giver is being penalised 50 metres on the wrong and possibly a two point concession.
2.The quick free or solo and go

Some players are deliberately barging into the opponent pretending they have been obstruted.Again a 50 metre penalty on the wrong.

3.The Mark. A few players contest a high ball and when the fielder wins it if the other dont get out of the way quickly again a 50m penalty.

I like some rules and have no problem with indiscipline being punished but somw of the rules are rubbish in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more with you Mick… and the double chance for a forward after catching the ball is also ridiculous… what hope has a defender got..!
