Anyone know why the GAA refused to let anyone show the Armagh v derry game? Sounds like it was a great game. Paying a yearly pass and not getting big games doesn't make a lot of sense

They showed 2 of the 4 football matches played today. They can't show the every game.

There is something rotten as regards Gaa coverage and seems no answers from Gaa or RTÉ..the last few weeks there have been matches shown on Saturday but four football today with nothing on free to air.
Why doesn't our Gaa president come out and tell us what the deal is with coverage..
I'll compliment tg4 for the coverage they are giving minor and under 20,it's a great oppurtunity to see the future players in action..they also had the 2 minor games on their you tube today from thurles..

Don't be paying it… just get the Firestick… The 3 McDonagh Cup hurling games were on live.. Carlow/Laois was a great game… Donegal and Tyrone was an excellent game… Don't be wasting money on any season pass… There is a multitude of sport and everything else available on the Firestick…

Firestick is OK but often the live stream is poor and drops. The right job for TV series and movies. The GAA+ is reliable and playback and archives very good. Some games aren't streamed because it could reduce attendances. We should have an option though to claim back VAT from GAA+ and other streaming services to offset the obsolete mandatory TV licence fee. People were long enough complaining that there was no GAA channel. Now that there is one they still complain.

Green and red, they have put Munster hurling on plus, hasn't affected attendance..Armagh game no where today, wasn't going to affect attendance, supporters still going..Donegal game wasn't affected by being on tv..
Big interest in limerick/Clare but no sign of any coverage..expecting over 20 thousand..
Any idea what happens with Dublin/Armagh next weekend??
I've also found out about the fire stick and my brother and law and myself have enjoyed watching what we want to watch..however our worry is a block will be found on free coverage..

I thought there might be a block somehiw after they switched from GAAGO to GAA+ CT but there's still streaming so it should be grand. I've no idea why they show some games and not others, just suggesting attendances might be it. I'm happy enough with GAA+ but never happy paying TV licence. Knowing here that we pay for other broadcast and Internet hardware and software activities and wonder how they can still put people under pressure to pay for a TV licence when they're raking in VAT broadcast and Internet that didn't exist in 1962.

They will show highlights of Limerick Clare tonight and you can see most minor and U20 games live
Limerick Clare will have the second biggest attendance of the weekend, after Cork Waterford

It's interesting that rugby union let the champions cup final be streamed on YouTube. Pro d2 just made a deal with a YouTube channel to show games for free on YouTube next season. American football will shows free games on YouTube next year and the NBA have been showing games for years on YouTube. It's like free to air the more people who see the game the more you grow it.

For some reason the GAA won't even show games behind a paywall even though fans pay a season pass. The crowd argument doesn't work as neutrals from Kerry are not going to Armagh anyway. All you are doing is stopping neutrals watching games.

Limerick and Clare was a non game even before the ball was even thrown in.Limerick already in a MF and Clare already knocked out.Just a glorified challenge game to try out players.

Armagh GAA said the GAA prevented them from streaming the Derry match? Have you a link for them saying that?

Maybe Rugby, NFL, NBA might have more resources and revenue streams than the GAA? What do you reckon?
